Episode Transcript
[00:00:00] Speaker A: What's going on, y'? All? Welcome back to the Corpse Christie Originals podcast. We got another episode. I'm your host, Jesus Lario. Today we're diving in head first into the local car and drift scene with me and three of these dudes here whose names ring bells from the pits to the meats.
I got this from Chad GPT.
We got Frank Corpus, the man with the Myth, and the 2JZ Genesis Coupe.
Aaron Perez, PBG number 20 champ, and the Corpus drift king.
And Justin Flores, the dude turning burnout parties into legitimate events.
[00:00:35] Speaker B: There we go.
[00:00:36] Speaker A: What's going on?
[00:00:38] Speaker B: Takeovers?
[00:00:38] Speaker C: Believe it.
Don't start, please.
[00:00:43] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. I use AI. Do you all use AI?
[00:00:47] Speaker C: Yes.
And I get help for it.
[00:00:50] Speaker A: I do. Yeah, there's always.
[00:00:51] Speaker C: Yeah, he's like, that's not you. I'm like, yeah, no, that's the point. Yeah.
[00:00:57] Speaker B: It's supposed to be you.
[00:00:58] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm not. You know, English wasn't my.
[00:01:00] Speaker A: Yeah, same thing.
[00:01:01] Speaker B: I write the descriptions, whatever write ups that need to be done. I do them.
[00:01:06] Speaker A: Yeah, okay.
[00:01:07] Speaker C: Does a great job and I like it. And I tell Aaron's like, that's too legit. I'm like, you know we're legit, right?
[00:01:14] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:01:15] Speaker B: I mean, you went to college. Not that kind of college.
[00:01:18] Speaker C: Right on. Yeah, school, man.
[00:01:19] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, for sure. Yeah, I use it. That's. I put it. I put Yalls profiles in the GPT and then I put Corpus and. Corpus and coffee Facebook page. And I said, tell me what. Tell me what you can about these, dude.
[00:01:31] Speaker C: And it breaks down a lot.
[00:01:32] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. And I was like, okay, now format an outline for a podcast for 90 minutes. Boom. And it just shot this out.
[00:01:39] Speaker C: Oh, damn.
Yeah, he's not. He's nothing new, Chad. GBT is one of my best friends now. I'm sorry. All my real best friends.
[00:01:49] Speaker D: But the Twitter one.
[00:01:51] Speaker A: Yeah, he's grokos.
[00:01:52] Speaker C: I don't.
[00:01:52] Speaker D: He's more racist.
[00:01:53] Speaker A: Oh, yeah.
[00:01:57] Speaker D: You might go chat.
[00:01:59] Speaker C: GBT has helped me a lot with everything. I mean, medical, every. Oh, dude, who needs a doctor nowadays?
[00:02:05] Speaker B: I mean, he's lonely at home, talks to.
[00:02:07] Speaker C: Hey.
[00:02:08] Speaker A: Yeah. So you're kind of against it. You're.
[00:02:10] Speaker B: Oh, very much.
[00:02:10] Speaker C: Really old school.
[00:02:12] Speaker A: So, like.
[00:02:13] Speaker B: Well, I'm also a writer.
[00:02:14] Speaker A: Like I. Oh, Steve Anthony Diaz programs.
[00:02:17] Speaker C: Didn't I didn't.
[00:02:19] Speaker B: Didn't I write all your sponsor packets? Okay, then.
[00:02:21] Speaker C: He's good. He knows how to talk.
[00:02:23] Speaker D: He knows how to sell you.
[00:02:24] Speaker C: He don't look like it, but he knows how to talk.
[00:02:25] Speaker A: So you guys.
So you guys have been working together since 2012, correct?
[00:02:29] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:02:30] Speaker A: What's that been like for you guys?
[00:02:32] Speaker B: I don't know.
[00:02:33] Speaker C: Already tired of me.
[00:02:33] Speaker B: How do you describe a marriage?
[00:02:36] Speaker C: Married couple. You know, and it's crazy because I. When I'm working days, you know, I shift work. I call Aaron on my way home. I'll call my wife. First we do our little thing. All right, babe, I'm on my way. And then I call Aaron. Hey, what's up? Oh, no. What are you doing? Why not? You know who. Yeah, we talk. And then when I'm on my way to work, I'm like, five o' clock in the afternoon. Hey, good morning. He's all, good morning. I've been at work just waking up.
[00:02:59] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, let's come back from nap time.
[00:03:04] Speaker A: So I went to the same school. Which school do y'.
[00:03:05] Speaker C: All.
[00:03:06] Speaker A: No, no, different school.
[00:03:07] Speaker B: He's from over the Bridge.
[00:03:08] Speaker C: How many years? We're six years apart.
[00:03:10] Speaker D: Four years.
[00:03:11] Speaker B: You're not that old.
[00:03:12] Speaker C: I don't. Dude. I don't know.
[00:03:13] Speaker B: Geriatric.
[00:03:15] Speaker C: I'm 36.
[00:03:16] Speaker B: I'm 32, so.
[00:03:17] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:03:18] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:03:18] Speaker C: I knew something like this. Thought you were younger.
[00:03:20] Speaker D: My grandpa.
[00:03:21] Speaker C: The gray hairs up.
[00:03:23] Speaker B: I wish I was younger, boy.
[00:03:26] Speaker A: So 12 whole years, man. That's awesome. So y' all been into drifting and all that stuff since then? Obviously.
[00:03:32] Speaker C: Yeah. So he. He kind of saw me in an event and liked what we did. And then he was into it, too. And it. It was like, I told you the last time me and a couple buddies were into it.
[00:03:41] Speaker B: And then we called Houston. Oh, away from Corpus.
[00:03:45] Speaker A: Oh, wow.
[00:03:45] Speaker C: Okay. Cuz y' all delivered stuff, right?
[00:03:46] Speaker B: We deliver tires for y', all, for you and Jose.
[00:03:48] Speaker C: So he had. We had a mut.
[00:03:51] Speaker B: He never left. Go Deliver Tires in Houston and then met him there. And he's. Oh, Corpus. Corpus. Oh, xyz. Boom, boom, boom.
[00:03:58] Speaker A: And no kidding.
[00:03:59] Speaker B: And then like a few weeks. Few weeks. Months after that, I met Raymond, and that's what brought me to the shop. Was. Was Raymond cool?
[00:04:06] Speaker A: Real quick, you guys are in the chat. Leave some TR questions in Facebook and Y. YouTube, we got.
[00:04:11] Speaker C: Always get the short phone calls and South Texas haunts.
[00:04:16] Speaker A: What's going on, Monty? Appreciate y' all being on questions or comments for these drift guys, these car culture guys, man. So we were talking earlier, so obviously there's. It seems like there's a divide between the different types of car scenes and stuff like that. And it's like, how do you get over that? You know, just like Even because I, I just added myself to the Corpus and Coffee Facebook page.
[00:04:41] Speaker C: What's going on?
[00:04:42] Speaker B: It's the boys are back, not is back.
[00:04:44] Speaker A: Yeah.
And when I got on there, I was just like, okay, yeah, you can tell there's a section here. There's a section here. There's a section. You know what I'm saying?
[00:04:52] Speaker C: Yeah. And I find that interesting, too, because you came from an outside perspective. Like, you're not a car guy or. I mean, you are in.
[00:04:57] Speaker B: You.
[00:04:58] Speaker C: You know what you do. You're a truck guy, actually.
[00:05:00] Speaker A: Yeah. I mean, I'm a podcaster, and like, I'm trying to, obviously, whenever I make content to put it wherever. So I, I, that's another reason why I joined it, because I had that interview with you guys, and I was like, okay, well, let me share some of their stuff to this, their crowd, and hopefully maybe get some fans on my.
[00:05:15] Speaker C: For my podcast, dude. That's why I told you, I love helping out everybody. And like, hey, expand. Like, yeah, I'm not.
[00:05:23] Speaker B: What do you talk about? That's all we've always preached to.
[00:05:25] Speaker C: I'm not, I'm not trying to be a gatekeeper at all. Nothing. Like, hey, let's hook everybody up, man. Like I told you, dude, I love local stuff. I love Corpus. I love trying to do that. Because I don't know if you just saw. Corpus is the third most boringest city today.
Yeah, we made the list.
[00:05:44] Speaker B: We make all the lists, though.
[00:05:46] Speaker C: Yeah, we made that. And it's true, man.
[00:05:48] Speaker B: The fattest city. Most boringest city.
[00:05:50] Speaker D: Yeah, I thought we lost the fattest one.
[00:05:52] Speaker B: Oh, did we?
[00:05:53] Speaker A: It's always negative news. It's always negative news, bro.
[00:05:57] Speaker C: But, yeah, dude, but, yeah, that came out and it's like, man. Hi, cousin. Sorry.
[00:06:02] Speaker A: Hey, Kevin. What's going on? Thank for coming on.
[00:06:05] Speaker C: It's not my cousin, but do y' all know who that is From San Antonio?
[00:06:10] Speaker D: Watching from San Antonio.
[00:06:11] Speaker A: Hey, nice.
[00:06:13] Speaker C: But, yeah, man, we came out third most born in city. And that's why I tell you, bro. Like, hey, dude, like, what can we do to help each other out? Like, I love helping your stuff out, dude. Like, you know, you mainly focus on originals from Corpus. That's why, dude, that's what caught my attention, and that's what I love. Like, I tell Frank and Aaron all the time, like, what can we do? Like, you asked Aaron about our business and about everything. I'm like, dude, what can we do to grow as a community, as people, as everything else? Like, I'm here to hook Everybody up. Like, yeah, we started our own podcast after we did yours. And we do our thing and like, we do it, but it's like, nah, dude, let's. Let's have fun with everybody, man. I'm not trying to be.
[00:06:47] Speaker A: You got to be open mind. You got to be open minded, dude.
[00:06:50] Speaker C: You know, any successful business, we don't do it for us.
[00:06:53] Speaker B: We do it. We do it for everyone else who's involved, who has a role to play, who. Who's come by the events, who's gone to a story. Yeah, that's exact. Yeah, it's essentially. It's a story to tell.
[00:07:03] Speaker A: Oh, right on. What makes y' all feel like or seem that y' all are on this section of the car culture or whatever? Is it like. I mean, so you have to be like old school? You know what I mean? I'm not. I'm not sure.
[00:07:17] Speaker D: It's very different how it is, I think, like, I remember when I was younger and I. I was just getting into cars.
Everyone would meet downtown at the. At the Tea Heads. That was the spot. Like, that was. There's nowhere else to go except for that spot.
[00:07:31] Speaker A: And so it's for people that are just working on their cars, like, their cars, like to put money into their cars.
[00:07:36] Speaker D: Back then it was crazy because you had low rider guys, you had like truck guys. You had. The imports was just, you know, starting to grow. So you had like, it was still.
[00:07:44] Speaker C: A show thing for import styles. Nobody was fast yet, so. Well, there.
[00:07:48] Speaker D: There were some, but it was some.
[00:07:49] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:07:49] Speaker B: But it was rare.
[00:07:51] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:07:51] Speaker D: Like back in that day, like, like any Mustang Camaro, you know, like they made like 300 horsepower max back in the day, you know, a lightweight Civic with a B16 swap was like dominating the streets.
[00:08:03] Speaker C: You know what I mean?
[00:08:04] Speaker D: Like, it was crazy. And this is like 200 horsepower. But it was so light, it was fast. And horsepower was. Was expensive back then. You know, nowadays you got 40k, you can get 500 horsepower, you know, go to any dealership.
[00:08:17] Speaker B: And how much you pay for his horsepower?
[00:08:20] Speaker D: Well, it's different.
[00:08:21] Speaker C: Not go there.
[00:08:22] Speaker A: I mean, so this. So it's a non old school way of.
[00:08:29] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:08:30] Speaker A: Souping up your car.
[00:08:31] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:08:31] Speaker A: Do you know what I'm saying?
[00:08:33] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:08:33] Speaker A: As opposed to like the old way, like you have your. I'm thinking like Mustangs and.
[00:08:37] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:08:37] Speaker A: You know, muscle cars.
[00:08:39] Speaker C: So now computers are involved in so much in cars and stuff like that that you can't.
[00:08:43] Speaker D: The technology is.
[00:08:44] Speaker C: So, yeah, there's no. Dude, one of my best one of my best friends is a tuner and we both use him. But it's not like an old school carburetor where your cousin can come and. Hey, yeah, yeah, Let me adjust the tune real quick on the carburetor and. Oh, yeah, okay, that sounds good.
[00:09:00] Speaker D: Okay, joke. It's like you. You wait for an email from your tuner and then you plug it in, you gain 200 horsepower.
[00:09:06] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah.
[00:09:07] Speaker D: That's how it is now.
[00:09:08] Speaker C: Yeah. Because everything now is. Is like that. So, you know, and there's people.
You don't just go to homeboy down the street and be like, oh, okay, hey man, can you hook me up? Because it's not that you don't trust him. It's not that he doesn't know because he can know he can do whatever. But this dude, you know, my best friend Ben, he makes a business off of tuning. And that's specifically what he does is tuning. He does fabrication and other stuff as well, too, but he. His main thing is tuning. So it's like you're gonna go to the dude that has tuned 60 to 75 other cars, you know, and like, oh, okay. This dude knows what he's doing. He's got it down. Because, you know, we're not just in a. Going for a little street cruise or whatever. You know, my car gets ragged on for eight to nine hours, you know, a day if we're going to a drift event. So I'm not gonna just sit there and be like, oh, yeah, that pool was good. No, it's like, okay, was that pool good? And. And you got to research every little thing wrong. Because if there's a fail safe, points, there's.
Frank has a ton of money into his computer system for fail safes because the money that you put into the motor, it's not just a. Yeah, I'm not just going to trust this guy down the street. That's. Yeah, okay. Yeah, he's tuned a couple cars. Yeah, cool. But it's like, no, we're putting these cars through hell and doing what we have to do. So I'm not just gonna, you know, there's tons of money. I don't want to get into that.
[00:10:25] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah.
[00:10:25] Speaker C: Motor builds. But like, we'll come coming back to the computer software. It's all sensors, computers now and everything else. And you got the hot rod guys that, you know, still go do it. But even the. The old hot rods now going to computers that way.
[00:10:37] Speaker A: Wow.
[00:10:38] Speaker C: Everything. So the way it's evolved mechanically from back then to now, it's like, there's so much genre of. Of everything. Yeah.
[00:10:48] Speaker A: What's the. Okay, so I guess that's the hardest part of your current setup. As far as, like, your car build or what, Whatever.
[00:10:54] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. There's a lot of dialing in. A lot of people don't see that, you know? And I know Frank's going through A lot of it right now, Figuring out what works and what goes on with everything.
Because, you know, I. I tell people. People see my car, and they're like, oh, yeah, make that much horsepower. And it's, like, cool. But, dude, I have.
[00:11:11] Speaker D: When you use it, when you use it, what works? What doesn't? Yeah, how the suspension works. Like, tires, you know, arms.
[00:11:21] Speaker C: People are like, oh, yeah, I have that setup. And it's like, ah, you do, but you don't, Because I have hours. And what works? What doesn't work? Okay, let's go this way. Let's go that way. No, this doesn't work. Okay. And it's trial and error, like, crazy. Trying to figure it out.
[00:11:35] Speaker B: And trying to get, like, 20 different things to line up all right. For the same goal. Yeah, that's. That's what makes it hard. Because there's so much other things involved. Suspension, tires, so on, so forth. Weight to make sense with the horsepower, you can just put a turbo on a car. Oh, I have a thousand. But you're on factory brakes, factory suspension. You're not going to put down a thousand. You're not going. It's not you.
[00:11:55] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:11:55] Speaker B: Point. And so it's a mass of everything. It's a collective of all of it to come together.
[00:11:59] Speaker A: Crazy.
[00:12:00] Speaker C: That's what I tell aaron. He's like, people, you know, we. We'll tell you the formula and what it takes, but when it comes to dialing in for what you want, for what you do, for everything else, it's like. Like, it's. It's a lot of timing that goes into this that people don't see. Like, oh, yeah, I have this. No. Yeah. Okay, cool. But it's not that easy, man.
[00:12:18] Speaker B: And then it's one thing to get there to that level. It's another thing to maintain the vehicle to stay at that level.
[00:12:23] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:12:24] Speaker B: So it's not just, oh, let me spend the. The 40 grand. Okay. I'm good. It's okay. Here's 40 grand now. 15, 10, 15, 20 more.
[00:12:34] Speaker D: Rear end blower transmission.
[00:12:35] Speaker C: Yeah. You know, weld the clutch.
[00:12:38] Speaker A: Definitely difference between the show car and the.
[00:12:40] Speaker C: Oh, yeah.
You know, me and frank, we have this. We have this ongoing. We were at the dyno, and we were getting our cars tuned by Ben, and we're going through it and going through it all. And, Frank, I make. I made some. I made, like, 580 is what I made on my car. And I was, like, mad, and I was like, no. Like, let's turn it down. Like, listen, like, why would you want to turn that down?
You don't understand. That's a lot. Like, I'm not trying to. Yeah, it's cool. I'm not mad about the number. I'm mad, like, let's slow her down a little bit and, like, jam, bro.
[00:13:10] Speaker D: You make more. Make more power.
[00:13:12] Speaker B: What's up?
[00:13:13] Speaker D: It's more wear on everything else.
[00:13:15] Speaker C: Speaking of power. Yeah, Bill's in here.
[00:13:17] Speaker A: What's going on, Bill? Shout out to Alabama miss. The Corpus Crew, Anna J. Rodez. What's going on, Anna?
[00:13:23] Speaker B: Hey, Anna.
[00:13:23] Speaker C: Miss you, Tony Btech.
[00:13:25] Speaker A: Shout out to Ben on.
[00:13:26] Speaker D: I went to high school with him.
[00:13:27] Speaker B: Really?
[00:13:27] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:13:28] Speaker C: Shout out.
[00:13:29] Speaker B: Nice.
[00:13:29] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. She meant.
[00:13:30] Speaker A: She mentioned you last time. She's like, oh, no, that guy.
[00:13:35] Speaker C: Oh, Bill, thanks for doing service. Bill, he's a coast guard. He was here.
He was stationed here for a long time. And they were all shocked that he wanted to stay in Corpus, and then he stayed here in Corpus, and now he's trying to come back. And you want to come back. I know, right? Yeah.
He's a hell of a fabricator. Hell of a car guy. He loves it. He helped me with a lot of stuff on my car and.
Thank you for your service, Bill. Thank you.
[00:14:01] Speaker B: Appreciate you.
[00:14:02] Speaker A: Right on.
So. Damn. So. So what was your talking about? Cars? What's your first car or project you made?
Oh, what's your first car or project that made you fall in love with the scene?
[00:14:16] Speaker C: Oh, so I guess. Well, I came from. Man, my parents got me my first car at 13. It was a Camaro. It was a hot rod. I had a big block, had everything.
Thought that was the coolest thing. No, no. My son has his first car, like eight. That's. They're that spoile.
[00:14:37] Speaker B: I don't.
[00:14:39] Speaker C: But no. Yeah, so I got into that, man. And then once I build hot rods, man, that was. My brother does that. My brother owns his own fabrication shop here in town. Does his whole thing street.
[00:14:50] Speaker A: What is that? Fabrication.
[00:14:52] Speaker C: So he does his.
He builds chassis, and fabrication is just welding, building.
[00:15:00] Speaker A: Okay. Engine, stuff like that, mostly engine and stuff like that.
[00:15:03] Speaker D: Making fit into that.
[00:15:05] Speaker C: It's not supposed to.
So my brother owns his own shop, and he's into hot rods. He came out on Street Outlaws. He does all that.
[00:15:14] Speaker A: He.
[00:15:14] Speaker C: He hosts drag racing events around, man. And, you know, growing up around him and my oldest brother that do that too. My oldest brother's a hot rod.
[00:15:23] Speaker A: So you guys are all into it?
[00:15:24] Speaker C: Yeah. And they're in a. You know, my dad built his hot rods and stuff like that, and they got me into that. And then they would always tell my mom, he's gonna be the. The different one. Watch. He's gonna have a truck. He's gonna have a truck. And I was never into trucks. And I wish I would have gotten a truck to haul all my.
But they always gave my mom. And then sure as hell, I got a Nissan. And watching my best friend, one of my best friends Raymond get into that, he gave me a ride, and I was like, that's it. I'm done. That's.
[00:15:52] Speaker A: Speaking of trucks, bro, somebody here. Somebody here won an F450.
[00:15:56] Speaker B: You want a truck?
[00:16:01] Speaker A: So you want to. So. So what was the deal?
You. You went on a. On a. On a show, joined like, how'd you have to get in there?
[00:16:09] Speaker B: It was Instagram posts, and he posted before I was. Oh, well, these guys. People don't win this stuff.
[00:16:14] Speaker C: So the YouTube giveaways are.
[00:16:15] Speaker A: That's exactly what I thought.
[00:16:18] Speaker B: I always thought somebody within their. Their camp was someone, you know, their friend, their brother. Somebody won the truck. And no. And Corpus Christian. Hey, what's up? Hey, you won.
All right, man. It's cool.
[00:16:31] Speaker C: So he texts me, nonchalant. I'm eating a Cheesecake factory. He's like, hey.
And this is this Wednesday night. It's date night with my wife meeting. And I don't be on my phone or nothing. And I get a text from Aaron. Hey, I just won the Motion Auto truck. And I'm like, get out of here. And I like, whatever. And he's all, not for real. And I was like, there it is. How he's watch this YouTube. So I jump on YouTube and I jump on the YouTube and the place that it stops on the YouTube, it was just like, you know when you lose service?
[00:17:03] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:17:04] Speaker C: I saw Aaron's silhouette on dude. And I was like, he is not lying. I was like, oh, yeah. So I jump on the Instagram. I look, I told my wife. She's like, no way in hell. I'm like, look. I was like, it's Aaron.
[00:17:17] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:17:17] Speaker A: That's amazing, dude.
[00:17:18] Speaker B: Good look at the hand. But yeah, No, I thought nobody won that. And I bought three shirts, but the shirts Were simple. No logos anywhere.
[00:17:25] Speaker A: Oh, really?
[00:17:26] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:17:28] Speaker A: So that's all you.
[00:17:30] Speaker B: No logo, dude.
[00:17:31] Speaker C: Imagine that's it.
[00:17:33] Speaker B: And then. Yeah. Waited a month.
[00:17:35] Speaker A: What's was it, Cat? It was cash two and a truck or.
[00:17:40] Speaker C: Don'T let that out.
[00:17:41] Speaker B: Don't leave.
[00:17:41] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:17:41] Speaker A: No, it was like.
[00:17:43] Speaker B: It was a check. It was a check.
[00:17:45] Speaker A: It was a check.
[00:17:45] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:17:46] Speaker A: One of those big ones.
[00:17:47] Speaker C: No.
[00:17:47] Speaker B: I wish I would have it hung up, too, on the back glass of the truck.
I would have, but no, it was a check. Went to the bank and cashed it there. And we were there.
[00:17:56] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:17:57] Speaker C: In Colorado. Downtown.
Downtown Denver.
[00:18:00] Speaker B: He cashed the check, like, so can I cash this? Like, no. He goes, yeah. To do what?
[00:18:04] Speaker A: You what?
[00:18:05] Speaker B: Okay. Next day, hey, drop me off at the bank. I'll drive around for.
[00:18:09] Speaker C: We were making phone calls all morning, Trying to see who could cash that check. Yeah.
[00:18:13] Speaker A: I was gonna say, what did the bank do?
[00:18:15] Speaker C: I told Aaron, I said, you need to cash it from his bank, because back in Texas, you know how that's gonna go? They get a taxi or something.
[00:18:21] Speaker B: I went in, took maybe like, what, 15 minutes?
And then.
[00:18:24] Speaker C: All right, you know, right next to the Colorado Rockies stadium is where it was at.
[00:18:28] Speaker B: Yeah. We flew to Denver to go pick.
[00:18:29] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:18:31] Speaker A: Wow.
[00:18:32] Speaker B: And flew to Colorado springs and drove another hour to pueblo.
And then from there, drove all the way back to Denver to begin our trip.
[00:18:38] Speaker C: So it manifested because Aaron's been griping and griping at me, hey, we need to do a winter vacation. We need to do a winter vacation. That's not like the married couple.
[00:18:47] Speaker B: It's even funnier because I even mentioned Colorado.
[00:18:50] Speaker C: Yeah.
Let's go do a winner. Winner.
[00:18:52] Speaker B: Let's go to Colorado. And I'm like, let's do something over there.
All right, well, we're doing it because of me.
[00:18:56] Speaker A: Go, man.
[00:18:57] Speaker B: So.
[00:18:58] Speaker C: So, yeah, we went up and we went snowboarding. We went snowboarding.
[00:19:01] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:19:02] Speaker C: Breathing our butts off.
[00:19:04] Speaker D: I. I asked. I asked if I can go, too. And they were like, yeah, for sure.
[00:19:11] Speaker C: Frank was always working. Yeah.
[00:19:13] Speaker A: Have you. Have you taken it over the new harbor bridge yet?
[00:19:16] Speaker B: No. No.
No.
[00:19:19] Speaker A: So y' all think about the new bridge opening.
[00:19:21] Speaker D: Dude, you know what? I talked a lot of about them getting their act together and finishing that thing.
[00:19:28] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:19:29] Speaker D: And you know what?
[00:19:30] Speaker C: I got. I gotta give it props to the traffic's.
[00:19:33] Speaker D: Because it's. It's pretty good.
[00:19:34] Speaker C: Yeah. The traffic's worth it, in my opinion.
[00:19:36] Speaker D: All the interchanges and all that stuff.
[00:19:39] Speaker C: It's. It's.
[00:19:39] Speaker B: It makes sense.
[00:19:40] Speaker D: It's nice. Yeah.
[00:19:41] Speaker C: It makes sense now.
[00:19:42] Speaker D: It's no longer before when it was all closed and, like, wow, how is this gonna work?
[00:19:47] Speaker C: I feel like I'm exiting, like, 410 in San Antonio or 6:10 in Houston.
[00:19:53] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:19:53] Speaker C: The traffic's not as bad, but, like, when you take the exit, I'm like, are we at home?
Yeah, you did a good job. Lucky. Yeah.
[00:19:59] Speaker B: You don't notice. Tall you are. How high?
[00:20:01] Speaker C: Wait till you go in your truck.
[00:20:03] Speaker B: Oh, I know.
[00:20:03] Speaker D: Well, when I. Yeah, when I went.
[00:20:05] Speaker A: Over it, I was like, it doesn't.
[00:20:06] Speaker D: I don't even feel high. I'm trying to look over the edge.
[00:20:08] Speaker C: Yeah, I did notice that. You kind of can't see.
[00:20:13] Speaker B: I didn't see the top of the old Harbor Bridge. Oh, no.
[00:20:15] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah.
[00:20:17] Speaker D: When you look at that. That one, you're like, whoa, the sway.
[00:20:19] Speaker B: Isn'T too bad on the bridge. Like, it does sway. No, I'm just kidding.
[00:20:24] Speaker A: I want to go and I want to try the walkway, because there is one.
[00:20:26] Speaker B: Yeah, one side, though.
[00:20:27] Speaker A: Yeah, it's on one side.
[00:20:28] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:20:29] Speaker B: Yeah, it's on the. The water side.
[00:20:30] Speaker A: Yeah, the water side.
[00:20:31] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:20:32] Speaker A: They were like, oh, you can't see on this side or whatever, bro.
[00:20:35] Speaker C: I know. People were complaining.
[00:20:36] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:20:36] Speaker C: Why do you want to see the port so much? Everybody complains about it so much. Y' all complain about it so much.
[00:20:44] Speaker D: I'm pretty sure they don't want people camping out there.
[00:20:46] Speaker C: Like.
[00:20:46] Speaker D: Yeah, like, terrorists.
[00:20:48] Speaker C: All this stuff first. The first days they'd opened it up. I've seen a post on Facebook, and some.
Some people said, oh, well, you just pull over on the road, take your pictures, and leave. And I'm like, that's not.
[00:21:00] Speaker A: All right.
[00:21:01] Speaker C: You going?
[00:21:02] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:21:03] Speaker C: What did they say on the thing? Don't forget the cobalt. Oh, Thomas was my cobalt.
[00:21:06] Speaker D: Yeah, that's what I met Justin when he.
[00:21:08] Speaker C: Yeah, the cobalt. Wow. That was one of the stages. One of the many early import stages.
One of the sign.
[00:21:14] Speaker A: I told you.
[00:21:14] Speaker C: Anna J. Ramirez.
[00:21:15] Speaker A: I worked with this.
[00:21:16] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. Aaron got my wife a job at Nissan, and they worked in Nissan together.
[00:21:20] Speaker A: Nice.
[00:21:20] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's cool.
[00:21:22] Speaker A: How is Corpus car scene grown in the last few years? I guess we kind of talked about.
[00:21:26] Speaker C: This last time, right?
[00:21:27] Speaker D: I mean, has it.
Has it grown?
[00:21:30] Speaker C: Yeah, the meat getting. The meats are getting more.
[00:21:33] Speaker B: Well, there's more meats.
[00:21:34] Speaker D: I don't think so. It feels like a lot of them got shut down.
[00:21:37] Speaker C: They're moving. They're moving now.
Well, you know what? It is, too.
[00:21:41] Speaker D: Well, there's that Texan meat. But they lost the.
That burrito meat place.
[00:21:45] Speaker B: What's it called?
[00:21:45] Speaker A: The.
[00:21:46] Speaker D: Not five guys.
[00:21:48] Speaker C: Because I'm a Chipotle guy.
[00:21:49] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:21:50] Speaker C: I'm a Chipotle guy. So I don't know what.
[00:21:51] Speaker B: That one.
[00:21:51] Speaker D: They lost that. The Kohl's one.
[00:21:53] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:21:53] Speaker A: What are you talking about? Like, people, they go and meet up there.
[00:21:56] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:21:57] Speaker D: Okay, well, the way to set it up is you. You get permission to use the lot. You know what I'm saying? Like. Like talk to the manager, the owner, whoever you need to.
[00:22:06] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:22:06] Speaker D: They're like, yeah, you can be here. You know, just keep it chill.
[00:22:09] Speaker A: You probably get kicked out.
[00:22:11] Speaker C: Don't keep it chill.
[00:22:12] Speaker D: So you get kicked out. It gets shut down.
[00:22:15] Speaker C: And now. And like, like I'm saying, I think now it's more mainstream because now you see it in the Corpus Christi cars and coffee pages that now people will. They could put. Hey, meeting here. Hey, meeting here. Hey. And Rafe has been putting a lot of meets together at the Texan. They do the Starbucks every now and then. And like, they kind of finding who is allowing them to meet there and do well.
[00:22:40] Speaker B: This is the Sonic meet over there.
[00:22:41] Speaker C: By the Sonic on Staples. Oh, no, no.
[00:22:44] Speaker B: Right?
[00:22:45] Speaker C: No, I think it's the one by Heb on Saratoga that passed that one. That's the one.
[00:22:51] Speaker B: The community's grown. There's a variety of meats. There's constantly meets going on.
[00:22:56] Speaker C: I just think from then to now, you just. Like you said, all the social media, everybody's posting, there's always photographers, that stuff. There's always people.
[00:23:04] Speaker D: Jna.
[00:23:06] Speaker C: Yeah.
They opened up a little. That's one of our sponsors for Drift Corpus. Is that they.
And for my car, because they hooked me up too. But they. They started business. Oh, y. Aaron won one of their giveaways, too. Yeah.
[00:23:21] Speaker A: You had to throw it out there or something.
[00:23:23] Speaker C: Dude. No. Ever since he won the truck giveaway, everywhere we go. And we were just at a. At a baby shower.
[00:23:30] Speaker B: Baby shower diaper party.
[00:23:31] Speaker C: I was like, Aaron, if you don't win and know who was the last.
[00:23:35] Speaker B: One to get dropped the grand prize. And oh, by the way, you won.
[00:23:39] Speaker D: Hey, we're going to go buy some scratch offs.
[00:23:41] Speaker A: Wow. No.
[00:23:42] Speaker D: And you're gonna scratch so first.
[00:23:43] Speaker A: But he has to buy it with his money.
[00:23:50] Speaker C: Colorado. First it was. First it was Tony, and then now it's Aaron winning everything. Now we know when Tony won.
[00:23:56] Speaker D: Nobody believed in me.
[00:23:59] Speaker C: Even on his way there, nobody believed.
[00:24:03] Speaker A: I just want to show up to the meets and look at cars, but ain't got to meet worthy car. La. John Hawks's.
[00:24:11] Speaker B: Yeah, every car is meat worthy.
[00:24:12] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:24:13] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:24:14] Speaker C: And that's. That's true. Like you were asking too, man. And, and that's the thing on those posts that I've been talking about is that they're calling out people now because they're going over there, revving it up, going by, they're doing stuff. And, and they just had an issue at the, at the Texan meet. I saw that towards the end, you know, everybody was dispersing. They had it great. And then towards the end, you got those people with the stock cars coming in and then, boom, revving it up and doing whatever and it's like, man, if you like, it's it. Yeah, we know your car does this. Do it somewhere else. Like, don't do it there.
[00:24:47] Speaker A: It's almost like you can time it okay. At 30 at an hour here. That's when it's gonna start. So let's maybe go somewhere else. Yeah.
[00:24:53] Speaker C: And will you just kind of time it in once everybody fades away, then the others start coming in and then they start doing their thing or trying. You know, you always see those. There's those car shows, people taking off and they do a little burnout leaving or they, you know, they take off kind of fast or whatever to hear car. That's a thing. I don't think whatever anybody does nowadays, I don't think that's ever going to go away as doing that.
[00:25:13] Speaker D: But doing every city kind of thing.
[00:25:15] Speaker C: Yeah, that's. That's a good thing. I think.
[00:25:17] Speaker A: You don't.
[00:25:18] Speaker C: You don't leave a car show or somewhere like that, at least kind of here in the car.
As much as you frown on it or whatever. It's like, yeah, that's a thing. Like, even when they did it at Snap gets back, there's Cops said like, okay, cool, as long as you're not.
[00:25:30] Speaker D: Losing like super old heads.
[00:25:32] Speaker A: Yeah. So.
[00:25:33] Speaker B: Yeah, they let you do the burn.
[00:25:35] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:25:36] Speaker D: They let you.
[00:25:36] Speaker B: Yeah, of. Yeah, sure. He just pull up traffic.
[00:25:43] Speaker C: Now.
[00:25:43] Speaker B: Go home.
[00:25:44] Speaker C: Go home.
[00:25:44] Speaker A: He's out. Watch the light. Watch your light.
[00:25:46] Speaker B: Yeah, man, they would.
[00:25:47] Speaker C: But. But yeah, there's those people, man, and they don't respect it. And, and sadly, you know, it's those people because they come in with the cars that, like John says they're not worthy of looking at or anything like that. And they want the attention back to what I said.
[00:26:00] Speaker D: Horsepower today is. Is dumb.
[00:26:02] Speaker A: Cheap.
[00:26:03] Speaker D: You know, you got dealership 40k, 500 horsepower, kid.
[00:26:06] Speaker C: Yeah. You're Good. There's so many street cars back then.
[00:26:10] Speaker D: We had to work for power.
[00:26:11] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:26:12] Speaker B: You know, well, there's no respect for the power.
[00:26:15] Speaker A: So having these. So having these meet up, these, I guess, meetups, right? Is that what you call or what you call them when you're having these car meets is what helps the culture grow.
Because, yeah, it's actually.
[00:26:28] Speaker B: It can go both ways. It depends on how.
[00:26:31] Speaker A: How.
[00:26:32] Speaker B: How that meet goes at that time.
[00:26:33] Speaker A: Yeah. Okay.
[00:26:34] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:26:34] Speaker B: Because you can have a good. A good meet in general at one spot than just one bad event for them. Okay, well, everyone did burnouts on the way. We're kicked out.
[00:26:42] Speaker A: Well, so business probably are gonna know what to expect either. Like, either or.
[00:26:47] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:26:48] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:26:48] Speaker C: And like I said, Rafa has a good.
What do you want to call it? He's got a good presence out there. Yeah, he's got a good presence, but he also. He's. He's a professional when it comes to asking people, hey, can we use your parking lot? He's got a good reputation as looking for and. And doing that because he controls it. And that man is not scared to call somebody out on the Internet and saying, hey, you, you, you. He's got the camera to do it. So, hey, like, do it like, as. As. As crappy as it sounds, as much as it is to, like, do stuff, it's like, nah, like, call him out. Do what it's going to take because you have to, man.
[00:27:22] Speaker B: I mean, we're doing it ours.
[00:27:23] Speaker C: Yeah, they. They, me and Aaron.
Well, Aaron runs our private days for Drift Corpus. And there's been a number. Aaron and Nick run it, and there's been a number of, like, you know, we rent out the track, we do our thing, and there's a handful of people out there, and they're paying to have as much seat time as they can out there, which we offer to drivers because we take the summers off. And, dude, it's hot as hell.
[00:27:47] Speaker D: I take advantage of that.
[00:27:48] Speaker C: Yeah. And Frank's one of the ones that take advantage of it. Imagine being outside right now in a car with no AC all day.
[00:27:53] Speaker A: What do you mean, you take advantage of that?
[00:27:56] Speaker D: Okay, It's.
[00:27:57] Speaker C: It's.
[00:27:57] Speaker D: If you're gonna. If you want to drive.
[00:27:59] Speaker C: We have three months of no dates.
[00:28:01] Speaker D: Hey, I got four drivers. Whatever.
You know, what's. How much to. To rent, you know. Oh, it's this much.
[00:28:07] Speaker A: Right on.
[00:28:08] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:28:08] Speaker B: Here you go.
[00:28:08] Speaker D: And Aaron's there in the morning. I show up with tacos, and he says, you're late.
[00:28:15] Speaker C: He almost left Me, I guess.
[00:28:16] Speaker D: I guess because we were getting fuel and I got him some t. He already. Already ate. And he was like, you're late. I was gonna leave.
Sorry, man.
[00:28:23] Speaker B: Told me we'll be there at 8:30. All right. 9:00'. Clock.
Well, the paperwork says 10. No. No call, no show. 10:00'.
[00:28:30] Speaker A: Clock. Oh, what's going on, you guys?
Yeah, we just cut off here. Let's.
We should be live again.
Just click on the little live circle on our Facebook page or check out our YouTube channel. Corpse Christy Originals, I think we left off.
So we just. We were talking about the community and different. Different meets that you guys have. What does the city still need to better support car events and the community.
[00:28:56] Speaker B: People to show up.
[00:28:57] Speaker C: Up.
[00:28:59] Speaker B: Honestly.
[00:29:00] Speaker C: We're back now.
[00:29:01] Speaker B: We're back.
[00:29:01] Speaker C: We're back.
[00:29:02] Speaker A: So. So the city. So you're saying that the city. If the city would help y' all put these on or allow y', all, then the city, then that would help the.
[00:29:10] Speaker C: I think it would help because, like, being lowkey and everything, like Aaron says too, is like, I mean, we got that ticket for sound ordinance. And then they were like, yeah, build. Build a big wall and you can keep doing it. And it's like, come to find out.
[00:29:20] Speaker B: There was no ordinance for it anyways.
[00:29:21] Speaker C: Yeah. So being we found the loophole around it. How many years later?
Like eight years later.
[00:29:27] Speaker B: Well, we left.
We moved out of town to Beville and came back and. Oh, y' all can.
Oh, no, it's not a real thing. Oh, okay.
[00:29:37] Speaker C: So seeing that, thank God, where we do it and how it's sanctioned and how it's everything, like, we don't take the risk still, because, you know, they'll find the loophole how they did the last time and go through everything. So it's like, no, that's why we're enforcing the muffler rules. We're enforcing everything else you're fighting against.
So. Yeah, basically, yeah.
[00:29:55] Speaker B: Not against the city, but against the reasons the city uses.
[00:29:58] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. And like.
[00:29:59] Speaker A: Which are sound.
[00:30:01] Speaker B: A lot of it. Sound.
[00:30:02] Speaker C: It's all sound, man.
[00:30:03] Speaker B: And it's all sound.
[00:30:04] Speaker C: When I dealt with that, I made whenever in 2017. We got that, man. I made phone call after phone call after phone calling the city showing up, trying to see, like, what do I need to do to, you know, bring this back and to do it, and. And people don't understand, like, the hurdles that we had to go through to do this. But seeing all that and going through all that, and they're like, no, even the people that do the Jazz fest get calls and stuff like that too. Yeah. So what. What I would like to do and. And the only way legally, other than building a racetrack and doing something like that out in the Goonies or whatever, would be to do it in the Sea District. Because now the C District, the sports entertainment area, I think, is why that's.
[00:30:51] Speaker B: Called the sports entertainment. And art.
[00:30:53] Speaker C: And art. Okay.
[00:30:55] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:30:55] Speaker C: So sports entertainment and art. Now there is no sound limits down there.
[00:30:58] Speaker A: Oh, wow.
[00:30:59] Speaker C: So could do something like at Whataburger Field or somewhere like that, then that would like, blow up. But I got that door closed a long time ago.
[00:31:07] Speaker A: Wow.
[00:31:09] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:31:10] Speaker A: So wow.
[00:31:11] Speaker C: If we have. But it's hard, like, you know, doing stuff. Like I said, it's a skateboarding. Look how long it's finally taken to get skate parks normal in the city.
[00:31:19] Speaker D: Yeah, that's true.
[00:31:20] Speaker C: Like, looking at it that way and everything else, like, now everybody's cool with sk. You see a skate park in every city. But how long did that take for, you know, people to fight for that?
[00:31:29] Speaker A: And then it's like, why did it take so long?
[00:31:31] Speaker C: Yeah, you know, did it take so long? And I mean, nowadays you see skate parks in all the other cities that they're full of kids.
[00:31:37] Speaker D: It's just. It's just the.
The age difference. You know what I mean? You have the, like. I mean, I guess when we were growing up in the 80s and 90s, like, the skateboarding was like all.
[00:31:47] Speaker B: It was a rebellious.
[00:31:48] Speaker D: Those damn kids, you know, and it took an extra 25 years before the city was like, hey, you know what? It's not that bad. Let's build a skateboard for these kids.
[00:31:57] Speaker A: I feel like, like social media and enter the rise of Internet and everything, being public has, I guess, helped that to move forward. Do you know what I'm saying?
[00:32:06] Speaker D: Like, yes and no. Because you still have that Takeover culture that. That gives what. What Justin and Aaron do, like a bad name. Because people will still put it all together, like, oh, they're just doing burnouts in the streets. You know what I mean?
[00:32:19] Speaker B: And that's what the city sees. We bring up drifting. And the first thing is, oh, takeover. It's like, no, that's not what we're doing.
So my. My belief is exposure leads to expansion.
So I would love to have them come out to an event to sit in one of the cars, just even be. Just be a fly on the wall. Come watch what we do. There's organization, there's rules, there's everything lined up. It's a safe event. It's a fun event for everyone to go to. Come check it out and maybe we'll change their perception to want to work with us to do something in the Sea District. Because that's mainly the goal was to bring it in a centralized area.
It's not, it's not far from everybody. Everyone's downtown to begin with. It'll pour into the nightlife. It's a full weekend, man. But just give us a day.
[00:32:58] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:32:58] Speaker C: And that's just, that's it. That's what I tell.
[00:33:00] Speaker A: A shot.
[00:33:01] Speaker C: Give us a shot.
[00:33:01] Speaker B: Just, just give us a shot and we can show you. But the perception of it is the takeovers. That's all it is.
[00:33:08] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:33:08] Speaker C: And going through it all. And like the same thing with, like.
[00:33:10] Speaker B: I said with skateboarding, skate parks, it's the perception of it changed.
[00:33:13] Speaker C: Yep.
[00:33:13] Speaker B: Because back then it was rebellious. It was, you know, a punk thing to do. Now it's. Oh, weird. My attorney does it, you know, my dentist skills escape.
[00:33:23] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:33:23] Speaker C: It's.
[00:33:24] Speaker B: It's regular people and they, they see us as still like delinquents and, and juveniles of just being.
[00:33:29] Speaker C: And that brings up like he was saying earlier, the segregation of every different thing to looking and seeing and, and who does what and what, what's where. Because like I said, you know, we talk about it all the time. People don't know the talent that comes through our events and goes on above. You know, we've. We've had multiple pro drivers come out and drive our events.
[00:33:49] Speaker A: Right, right.
[00:33:50] Speaker C: And come through and hang out and you know, have a blast with everybody. Bring everybody into town and do stuff. And like Aaron said, it being centralized downtown when we had our events in beo, it was. It's a hard thing for people locally to make because a lot of people don't get the money, they don't have the funds, they don't have the trailers to do that stuff. Yeah. And to, to travel here to be Bill's not that far. But when you have a, a program and a car and everything at a.
[00:34:12] Speaker B: Grassroots level, it's pretty far.
[00:34:14] Speaker C: It does and it hurts it a little bit. It did help locally, but the out of town dudes that are die hards, they came down, they did it and over there was aw, awesome. Because we didn't have no sound ordinance so there was no.
They run, run what you run like yeah, it's cool. Bring that, bring that.
Yeah. Just come out and hey, you know, have fun and stuff. But now being down here and having to regulate It. And regulate what we have makes a hit. But if we had the support from the city, it'd be, like, super cool to. To come down.
[00:34:44] Speaker B: It's hard getting support from the city because they want to put all of us, whether it be us autocross guys, the car show guys, they put us all into one category. Category. And that's where. Okay, well, you're all the same.
We're all different, right?
[00:34:57] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:34:57] Speaker B: There's all different rules of each followers, different rules we each implement different ideas we come up with in our off seasons to bring into the next season. So you can ask the guys from autocross, car show guys. There's always something new that they're adding. So we all have our. Our own lanes that we kind of stick to.
[00:35:11] Speaker A: Right.
[00:35:11] Speaker B: But the city sees us like, oh, well.
[00:35:14] Speaker A: Oh. So the city puts all of y' all into one.
[00:35:16] Speaker B: Yeah. That's easy. Way to switch.
[00:35:18] Speaker C: See it?
[00:35:18] Speaker A: Oh, wow.
[00:35:19] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:35:20] Speaker A: And then. So y' all have that. You have to fight the city, and then obviously you fight other. Yeah.
[00:35:24] Speaker B: Because they're not exposed to it, so there's no. There's no exposure. You can't expand on it.
[00:35:28] Speaker A: Right on, Right on. Are there any crews or drivers or young builders you want to shout out?
[00:35:34] Speaker B: Bill, actually. Bill's a damn good builder.
[00:35:37] Speaker C: The axle dump. Yeah, Bill.
[00:35:38] Speaker A: How you say his last name? Dice.
[00:35:40] Speaker C: Dice.
[00:35:41] Speaker B: Bill.
[00:35:41] Speaker A: Dice. What's going on on YouTube.
[00:35:44] Speaker C: Yeah. And that.
[00:35:46] Speaker B: You know, all the drivers, the guys from Hero, actually.
[00:35:48] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:35:48] Speaker A: Yeah. I mean, I figured if you.
If he shout out, not Tony, I figured be shout out, like the. I guess the good ones. You know what I mean? People see that. Okay. You know what I mean?
[00:36:02] Speaker D: Jen from jna, that's a good kid.
[00:36:05] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:36:05] Speaker D: He's young.
[00:36:06] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
[00:36:07] Speaker D: What he's doing, you know, he just opened his own.
His own garage.
He's doing, like, details and wraps and.
[00:36:14] Speaker B: Does a damn good job of it, too.
[00:36:15] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:36:17] Speaker D: My race car, I think he's what, 22, something like that?
[00:36:20] Speaker B: He's young.
[00:36:21] Speaker A: So. So. So the culture is not just the drivers. It's everything.
[00:36:26] Speaker C: Drivers, all the. You know, you got Darian, Nick, Manny. Manny Vashon. Vashon street drives his car all the time from San Antonio. He puts a little hitch on the back. He puts four sets of four tires on the back, and he loads it up and drives over and says, hey, guys, I want to jam. And it's like he comes to jam.
[00:36:44] Speaker A: Is he from Corpus?
[00:36:45] Speaker B: San Antonio?
[00:36:46] Speaker A: He's from San Antonio.
[00:36:47] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:36:47] Speaker B: Well, he's originally from New York.
[00:36:50] Speaker A: No kidding.
[00:36:51] Speaker B: Wow.
[00:36:51] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:36:51] Speaker B: But people make the drive. They have a good time.
[00:36:53] Speaker C: Yeah. And just a bunch of, you know, there's newcomers. There's like Anthony just put reaction motorsports. I know that those guys are building some stuff to come out and hang out and do different things. They're, you know, know guys from heroes working on their cars. And Anthony, you know, is a huge dude too. Helping our media for our track. You know, jumping in with us and like, hey, I want to do this. And it's like, hey, well, help us please. Like, help us grow, man. Help us do what he has to do. Making our Instagram reels, making all of the pictures from everything else, taking it and. And being that. Because without our instagram and without our facebooks, it's like, what are we? You know what I mean? Like, that's. That's our. Our deal. And you got guys like Bill just said Carlos coming in from the valley too. Like, Carlos street drives his car from the valley street drive. But Carlos is, you know, Aaron has that. Good luck with all his raffles. And Carlos with his.
[00:37:49] Speaker B: Worst look, he's lost so many cars.
[00:37:52] Speaker C: So yeah, like, man, he's.
[00:37:54] Speaker A: He.
[00:37:55] Speaker C: He's a hell of a dude. And he's a die hard. One of the. The OGs from the valley drifting coming down here, man. And you know, them guys from the valley have helped us out that now we actually have a show.
[00:38:07] Speaker B: We have an audience down there now. An audience big enough to. For us to go down there and put on a show.
[00:38:11] Speaker C: These guys, co motorsports are. Are doing a show in November with some details that I cannot wait for everybody to hear.
[00:38:20] Speaker B: Exposure down there led to the city wanting to back us to go down there.
[00:38:24] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:38:24] Speaker B: So when the city calls corpus.
[00:38:26] Speaker C: Come down here.
[00:38:27] Speaker B: Come down here. We have something for you.
[00:38:29] Speaker C: So we're doing a big a show there.
[00:38:31] Speaker A: You got to go outside to.
[00:38:33] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:38:35] Speaker A: Crazy.
[00:38:36] Speaker C: We're doing a demo at their mall. We're gonna resay that at the mall.
[00:38:40] Speaker A: Wow.
[00:38:41] Speaker C: So they shut down the mall for the inside on an area. And I don't know if it's like one of those abandoned malls or whatever, but they have a car show inside. It's an anime festival that will be doing.
We'll be giving ride alongs outside drift. Corpus will be hosting that. They're gonna have a car show. They're gonna have an anime con. It's like a comic con style event.
There's plenty of people coming. Like I said, there's some details on that that I cannot wait for them to share. Who's going to be there. And the plans that they have for this. They've been sharing some info with me like crazy. And that's Tune Motorsports from the Valley. And they've been in contact, they come down here, they get some amazing media and they're all, dude. And you would freak out, bro. They're 18 years old, dude.
[00:39:24] Speaker A: Wow.
[00:39:24] Speaker B: These are all young guys.
[00:39:26] Speaker A: Wow. It's amazing.
[00:39:27] Speaker C: Their crew. When he like, came, he's like, hey, this and this and this. And we almost didn't let one of the media guys because he didn't hit the age lim, right?
Because we had, you know, 18 and older, you can get on. And he's like, hey. And I was like, wait, what? And then we talked to them all and they're like, yeah, dude, these kids are like 18, 17.
[00:39:44] Speaker B: They're still in school.
[00:39:45] Speaker C: Yeah, they're still in school. Bunch of, you know, and they're doing everything for the good of it, bro. Like, they are hooking it up for the Valley doing. And like I said, some of the details that he sent me about this car show and what they want to do is like, how old are you? And you're doing this. Like, I can't wait for you to get older and do some. Something, you know what I mean? And to see where you go. Because, man, dude, that the passion that some of these people have is like, hell, man, if I was 18 years old being able to do that, I would.
[00:40:10] Speaker B: How far we'd be.
[00:40:11] Speaker C: Yeah, how far we would have been doing it right now. But just the media dudes in general that all help us out big time and. And help us expose ourselves. Like I said, we had Adam the last time here hooking us up.
Rafa is one of the guys. Anthony Josh from Slightaholics, he would come down from San Antonio.
That's before we had any local photographers. And you know, Adam, we have Adam, but Adam, you know, he has his job. That's his daily thing. And Josh, yeah, Josh gives his time to all these drift events, traveling everywhere. And that got him into his job that he has now. So just freelancing media and helping dudes like us. Other events out of Austin, San Antonio, doing that. Like the exposure that he got now he landed a job at a. At a place that moved him down there in Houston. And now he's doing the media rap. He's doing all their stuff for them, helping him. He's a mechanically inclined dude, which helps. Helps that as well too. But when you're good behind the camera and the phone and the technology, yeah, it'll go somewhere.
[00:41:06] Speaker A: Is there any, like, event. Local events that y', all, I guess, like, try to team up with, like, because you know how you said that it was like, an anime or whatever that's gonna be.
[00:41:14] Speaker C: So we have, like, all Team Bash that we've worked with, and they're not local. They come in from out.
[00:41:19] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, I mentioned that last time.
[00:41:20] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:41:21] Speaker B: And the only local we actually. We hook up with is jna.
[00:41:25] Speaker C: Jna. They host their meets at. So he has a detail shop way out. What is it?
[00:41:29] Speaker B: On Yorktown by Bill Wit.
[00:41:31] Speaker C: By Bill Whitfield in that area.
[00:41:33] Speaker B: Same parking lot.
[00:41:33] Speaker C: And he throws a good meat. They have music there. They bring food trucks, which. The lobster was good.
So they had that lobster truck. And, man, that thing was good.
[00:41:43] Speaker A: Yeah.
Nice.
[00:41:46] Speaker B: Definitely.
[00:41:46] Speaker A: Yeah. So you guys are part of the Cars and Coffee Facebook group, right?
[00:41:51] Speaker C: Is that right?
[00:41:52] Speaker B: He is.
[00:41:52] Speaker A: Bill. Bill Dice. Thanks for commenting. Vashan Roberts. Anthony Vasquez. Velasquez is. Thanks a lot, you guys.
Yeah. So what's. So there. There's, like, a bunch of different groups. Like, who's the guy? The autocross or whatever.
[00:42:06] Speaker C: James.
[00:42:07] Speaker A: James, right.
[00:42:07] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:42:08] Speaker A: Yeah, he's. He's on there, too. I think he reached out. I might get him on here soon. Let's talk about his.
I guess his area in. In Corpus and Corpus call culture. Because I want to get, like. I mean, I like. I want people to talk about their stuff. You know what I mean? And I'm trying not to be biased either, so. And just even talking to you and talking to. And seeing that the Facebook group and stuff like that, and I like, I mentioned earlier, I noticed that there's different sections.
[00:42:33] Speaker C: Oh, yeah.
[00:42:34] Speaker A: Of the car culture. And so it's like, how. And I'm trying to figure out why. You know what I mean? And then we. We brought up the topic part of humanity having clicks and this stuff like that. You know what I mean? I mean, do y'. All. It seems like y' all really don't try to dwell on it.
[00:42:51] Speaker C: I can't.
[00:42:52] Speaker A: You just have. You. You just dwell on your own thing, and that's the best way to keep.
[00:42:56] Speaker B: Well, because we. To understand. Even though, like, I guess you could say we're. We're separated in a form, but we understand.
I'm not doing what they're doing, and they're not doing what we're doing.
[00:43:05] Speaker A: Right.
[00:43:05] Speaker B: And, like, safe to say the plan for them to drift isn't in the future, and the plan for us to do what they do isn't in our future.
So it's. There's no, there's no animosity. It's just we respect what. What each other's doing on their own craft.
[00:43:19] Speaker C: Yeah. And there's a. There's a huge thing because like Aaron said, you know, there's different motorsports and things that divide a lot of different people.
[00:43:27] Speaker B: And a lot of them are belief. A lot of them are purists. You know, left and right, you know, don't go straight. Straight isn't racing, you know.
[00:43:33] Speaker A: No. Crazy.
[00:43:34] Speaker B: You got to have turns. You got to have this.
[00:43:35] Speaker A: Yeah. It's interesting that you Me, we mentioned, I think when we cut off that was it motorsports that you can actually have a career in that. Yeah. And that's one of the reasons why maybe drifting is considered the skateboarding of, I guess, motorsports.
[00:43:52] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:43:52] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:43:53] Speaker B: It's fair to say.
[00:43:54] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:43:54] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:43:54] Speaker C: So, yeah, you can't. You can't make money drifting. I'm sorry. Do what you got to do.
[00:43:58] Speaker B: But you can get rich off of the left.
You're not going to get rich off of drifting.
[00:44:02] Speaker C: Yeah. And like, there's the pros and there's the factory back sponsors and stuff. And there's the sponsors that do it. But like Aaron stated earlier, you know, there's. There's even. Even some of the pro drivers, The. The factory pro drivers are. Are venturing off into other stuff because they have to make their money. They have to. You know, you eat. This ain't free. Drifting tires, gas, fuel.
[00:44:23] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:44:23] Speaker C: You know, there's a. There was an old video that came out that everybody's like, it was an old drifting video. Keep drifting. Fun. It was an hour and a half long. And they traveled. These dudes traveled from the east coast to the west coast and hit everywhere. And one of these dudes that they interviewed stated, you know, the people see these perception. And I see it too. Like you go to an seca or. Or like a formula one or like, sanctioned actual deal that has that, and you see a big trailer pull up, and you're like, oh, yeah, that guy's making a lot of money Doing what he's doing. But in drifting, you see a guy pull up with the rig, with everything, and he's like, yeah, the perception is that guy's making a lot of money. But in reality, he's spending a lot of money because tires, fuel, everything. Like, that's why I have two cars. Because the one car.
[00:45:09] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:45:09] Speaker C: Triples the cost to go out.
[00:45:11] Speaker B: Makes that much money. You got two cars.
[00:45:13] Speaker A: You got to be Creative in how you're. How you're making money back too. That's. Which is cuz y. Y' all is.
[00:45:18] Speaker C: In the business, right? Potentially. Yeah. And like, you have the YouTubers that do their thing and like, yeah, they're making money. Don't get me wrong. Like, he's making money drifting and stuff like that. But that's not their main deal. It's. He's making it off of his videos, off his feed, off of selling his other stuff.
Content, shirts, everything else. Like, whatever.
[00:45:38] Speaker B: Just. Just. It's not even the byproduct.
[00:45:39] Speaker C: It's.
[00:45:39] Speaker B: It's the dessert at the end of the meal.
[00:45:41] Speaker C: Yeah. So it takes a lot, man. And people don't understand it. It like, you gotta work. That's what people. You come out, I'm like, dude, I gotta work. We gotta. Frank's always working everybody. It takes money to go, yeah. Build these cars and spend it. And that's why I said when I made that horsepower, I was like, hey, yeah, no, that's too much money.
[00:46:01] Speaker A: Oh, now I see now.
[00:46:02] Speaker B: Yeah, it goes boom. It's gonna hurt my wallet.
[00:46:05] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:46:05] Speaker C: So that's why I built the car stop. And doing stuff like that, because it takes a lot, man. And. And, you know, like I said, I'm not getting paid to go drive all these other events to do that. Like sponsors give you prices on or. Or benefits on prices on stuff like that. But you're still paying the full thing, doing the whole thing.
[00:46:24] Speaker A: Like, that's what I was saying, like, you got to love. Dude. Love doing.
[00:46:27] Speaker C: Oh, dude. 100%.
[00:46:28] Speaker A: Christopher Randle, you're doing great work. Keep it up.
[00:46:30] Speaker B: Yeah. Drifting's a passion sport for sure. It's all about passion.
[00:46:34] Speaker C: Yeah. He hosts the events. He's the co host for the events out of Austin. Austin.
[00:46:38] Speaker A: Okay. Okay.
[00:46:39] Speaker C: So dreamers, adrift. Shout out. Thank you, guys.
You are doing a great job. Drifting actually got banned in Austin and they brought it back. Wow. Yeah.
Yeah, they banned drifting in Austin for a while. This was back early. Like 2010 ish, 11 ish. Somewhere like that. Yeah. Or maybe even earlier it got banned and these dudes came back out, and now they're doing car shows, competitions, everything else now. And. And they're making it work, man.
[00:47:05] Speaker B: But again, the key to that.
[00:47:06] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:47:07] Speaker B: Know, city supported it.
[00:47:08] Speaker C: Yeah. Now you see the city like it. Like Aaron was saying earlier, Valley supporting it.
[00:47:12] Speaker B: You got Austin supporting it.
[00:47:14] Speaker A: I don't know, man.
It seems like if there's no money in it, the city won't help.
[00:47:19] Speaker C: Do you think that.
[00:47:20] Speaker A: I mean, that's. That's just how I see it. And it's like, dude, I mean, I.
[00:47:25] Speaker C: I don't want to make a retractment statement that when it talks about the city because we have a hell of a support from the city.
[00:47:31] Speaker B: Correct.
[00:47:32] Speaker C: Drivers and event people who. Attendees and stuff like that. In all, it's the actual city. City.
[00:47:39] Speaker B: It's the official.
[00:47:40] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:47:42] Speaker B: It's the ones in position of authority.
[00:47:44] Speaker C: Yeah. Because we have great support over here that these dudes show up. Like, hey, we're doing this real quick. All right, we'll be right there. Hey, we're going to clean the track up and cut some grass. If anybody has a weed eater, you got.
[00:47:53] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, we're free.
[00:47:53] Speaker C: Come on. We'll be there.
[00:47:55] Speaker B: Help you out.
[00:47:55] Speaker C: Boom.
So it's not that, man. And. And luckily, like, me and Aaron, we deal with some managers at our facility that love us and support us and do everything for us that we can. And we likewise help them out when we can, doing, you know, being nice, kicking people out, doing what we have to do to. To keep that great deal. But that's all. And if we had the city backing us up like those dudes did, man, we.
[00:48:21] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, we'd Have y' all tried.
[00:48:23] Speaker A: Like, have you tried, like, I mean, have you tried talking to the city.
[00:48:25] Speaker C: Or so I did at that one point, man, and. And I the just getting the shut down and like, the responses I got, I was like, man, you can't.
[00:48:33] Speaker A: Oh, wow.
[00:48:34] Speaker C: What can I do? You know what I mean? So that's why it's like, you see what they're arguing about now and everything's going on now, and it's like, let me bring that up. And. And like, when we talk to the news and. And have some people, like, some people get interested in stuff, but at the same time, it's like, you know, and we've never had a bad experience either with people that come out and. And like, that don't know about it or the news and. And they always help us out and show a good interest.
[00:48:58] Speaker A: Do you think number them, like, if you like, have like a lot of people go and ask or talk to them that they'll then maybe consider, like a petition form. I guess in a sense that'd be.
[00:49:09] Speaker C: Something we'd have to bring to the table, but we'd also need somewhere to do it. To do it. Because, like, Aaron said, like, about how the segregation, like, man, I remember one time there was talks about bringing like, an F1 style race or I don't know what sanction it was but they were going to do something downtown or something like that. And it's like man, with all, all drag racing and stuff, like do you have a hell of a lot of drag racers in this town? Like a hell of a lot more than any other thing out there. And like they struggle finding a track and doing everything because man there's. They'll overpower any motorsports here in this town. From the roundy round that has their own right. You know.
[00:49:44] Speaker B: Drag racers pack in.
[00:49:46] Speaker C: Yeah.
And they will stand their ground and do what they need to do for. For, for their. What they got to do. But like I said, it's just then that one bad apple comes and that one thing comes and it just ruins it and it's like.
[00:50:00] Speaker B: Or just one bad video.
[00:50:01] Speaker C: Oh yeah. What about this? Boom, you're done. That's it. Like, you know what I mean? So we've, we've wanted to talk about it but we also need to sit down and get a plan.
What we're doing is working right now. And it's not that we're not trying to go above and beyond but it's like we're low key right in that window where nobody's messing with us. So it's like okay, like yeah, we're.
[00:50:20] Speaker B: In the sweet pocket.
[00:50:21] Speaker C: We're in the sweet pocket right now.
[00:50:23] Speaker B: We can operate like freely within.
[00:50:25] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:50:26] Speaker B: Within our own like boundaries of course. We don't really push past.
[00:50:29] Speaker A: That's cool. Like do you feel. Has it taken a while to get there?
[00:50:32] Speaker C: Have you been there before? No.
[00:50:35] Speaker B: Oh yeah. No, it's just. It's taking us since 2012.
[00:50:37] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:50:38] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:50:38] Speaker B: So maybe in the last three years is when like. Oh it's. It's kind of. It's smooth now.
[00:50:43] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:50:43] Speaker B: Now we can predict how the event's going to go.
[00:50:45] Speaker C: Yeah. Yeah. And seeing that. And like I tell Aaron, you know when we did it with Viva, we had to present something like okay look, we're going to bring in these amount of people.
[00:50:54] Speaker B: Look, it was a business plan.
[00:50:55] Speaker C: All these hotels.
[00:50:55] Speaker A: I was going to say what, what do you. So what do you think helped to. For it to be smooth like that in the past three years?
[00:51:01] Speaker C: Us busting our butt, man.
[00:51:03] Speaker A: Like, like what? Safety. More. More safety on safety.
[00:51:07] Speaker C: Being on safety and trying to be more professional.
[00:51:10] Speaker B: More regulation, more you know, we gotta. We got to be more, you know, professional. Like out out, go out forward. You have to be more professional presenting because no one wants to come In. And no one's gonna listen to anybody if I'm in a cut up shirt, raggedy shorts and who are you?
[00:51:24] Speaker C: And I tell Aaron I'm like, dude, every event and there's like the private days or whatever. I'm like, bro, I'm gonna come out and cut the grass.
Seeing events.
[00:51:32] Speaker A: Oh, the grass is bad out there.
[00:51:33] Speaker C: Yeah. So I hate like cool. Like I'm not worried.
[00:51:36] Speaker B: We do our own landscaping.
[00:51:38] Speaker C: Yeah.
I see like the weeds coming up and I'm like, okay, Aaron, I'm gonna go cut the grass here. Y' all want to come and help out or like whatever. But it' is that being the. The littlest things. And if I see a video and there's grass in there, I'm like, like, why didn't we cut the grass?
[00:51:53] Speaker A: I mean it just goes a little attention to detail. I think that's what helps.
[00:51:56] Speaker B: Well, it's taking more pride.
[00:51:58] Speaker C: Yeah. And doing stuff and I mean now we have it set up. You know.
[00:52:02] Speaker B: And then we've also done it together long enough. Especially with people who are already do help us. We've already been a team long enough to understand without even saying a word.
[00:52:11] Speaker A: He's.
[00:52:11] Speaker B: He's going to take care of this. He's going to take care of this.
[00:52:13] Speaker C: We all know what we do. You.
[00:52:14] Speaker B: Oh yeah.
[00:52:15] Speaker C: Through everything already to keep it.
[00:52:17] Speaker B: And we can always. If he's out, I can plug right into the position and without missing a beat. Nothing against. No hiccups, anything.
[00:52:23] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:52:24] Speaker B: Same thing. If I'm missing. He could plug right in.
[00:52:25] Speaker C: And so that's what we know. Where it comes to that and being like that and telling I'll shoot Aaron. Hey, what if we do these kind of barriers or let's put this. Or let's put this. And then we see prices and stuff. I'm like, okay, let's back it down.
[00:52:37] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:52:38] Speaker C: What else? Look so like barricading stuff. Making sure everything comes right every. Making sure nobody's crossing. Proper signage. Proper everything to keep everybody buddy legit and look more of a business professional. Because you never know. I always tell her, man, one day something's gonna pop up and be like, man, let's build this in my backyard. Like, okay.
[00:52:57] Speaker B: The best is going to come in and say, I want to give you $10 million. Let's build the dream answer.
[00:53:02] Speaker A: A giveaway.
[00:53:03] Speaker C: Right.
Not me relying on Aaron's luck.
[00:53:06] Speaker A: But you know, man, that's awesome, man. It's. It seems like businesses when you. It's that. That's cool.
[00:53:12] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:53:13] Speaker A: I really like that. And I tell Aaron I take pride in it.
[00:53:15] Speaker C: And like I said, I like that sweet spot because it's just enough to where we can, like, still enjoy doing it. And I don't ever want to hate running events. Like I say, that's why we push on everything because I don't want to babysit people. It's like, no, I love going out, doing what we got to do, having a fun time, and everybody just going smooth and nobody. You know.
[00:53:34] Speaker B: One thing that is nice now is when cops come to the events, they're not there for us.
[00:53:38] Speaker A: Oh, wow.
[00:53:38] Speaker B: They're there to hang out.
[00:53:40] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:53:41] Speaker B: They're not there to tell us, hey, shut it down. They're just, what's up, man? We're just. We're just gonna be. Park over here.
[00:53:46] Speaker A: Okay. Wow.
[00:53:47] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:53:47] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:53:47] Speaker C: And we have.
[00:53:48] Speaker A: That's amazing.
[00:53:48] Speaker C: We have a cop that sits out there now, and they, you know, they watch the building because all the trespassing stuff and all the. The stuff they got going on over there, but they come out, he talks with us, we'll hire security guard and bring them in and do everything else.
[00:54:01] Speaker A: Market out there.
[00:54:02] Speaker C: Like recently, they used to. That's why we shut down, because we couldn't rent the parking lot.
So, yeah, they used to have it. And then they just weren't having good luck with things going on with the market and they.
[00:54:16] Speaker B: Yeah, they had their own issues. They took off and then, hey, it's open again. You'll be right there.
[00:54:23] Speaker C: You want to hit it monthly? Yes, please.
Can I do it yearly? Is it okay? Can I rent it out yearly?
[00:54:28] Speaker A: So.
[00:54:29] Speaker C: And that's why we do the private days and stuff like that, because we, you know, we. We have bills we got to pay too, for the. For the events and. And insurances and everything else. So that's why we rent out. And people don't understand that.
[00:54:40] Speaker B: A lot of people just fail to understand event Other event organizers is. Insurance is not cheap.
[00:54:44] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:54:45] Speaker A: Oh, yeah.
[00:54:45] Speaker C: So you guys gotta have people want to complain. And I tell Aaron I don't want to raise our prices anymore. But if insurance is up, it's like, no, like, we're the lowest. We are the cheapest drifting event in Texas to attend.
[00:54:57] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:54:59] Speaker C: Sanctioned, you know, and. And that's. That's nobody else's fault. That's not a. That's not a bragging ride or nothing like that. But I want to keep it to. We're at. Because this is where it's manageable for us. And we're like, okay, yeah, we can raise it, man. If we can, we could double our.
[00:55:11] Speaker B: The ones who support us love it.
[00:55:12] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:55:13] Speaker B: And that's why every time we post an event, well, we have two open spots. On a private day, it's X amount. Here you go.
[00:55:18] Speaker C: Boom. Yeah, because, you know, you. You do a drifting event, and you're getting. I'll just throw it out there. At a drifting event, you get 30 to 40 laps. Maybe if it's not that busy. If it's busy, then, yeah, but that's a lot of track time still. But a private day, you're getting 100.
[00:55:36] Speaker D: 120 laps if you don't overheat.
[00:55:40] Speaker A: What do you think about all this, Mr. Corpus?
[00:55:42] Speaker D: Oh, I'm just. I'm letting Justin do his thing.
I just want to tell you that.
[00:55:46] Speaker B: Because he has a track day this weekend.
[00:55:48] Speaker D: Yeah, I have a track day this weekend.
Anyone to anyone that's watching right now that wants to do it, It's. It's stupid. Easy. You message Drift Corpus, or you message Justin or Aaron, you tell them how many cars, and they'll schedule you in. It's that easy.
[00:56:03] Speaker B: If you message the Drift Corpus Instagram page, it's us, too.
[00:56:06] Speaker A: There you go.
[00:56:08] Speaker D: You tell them, hey, I want to rent the track. Is it available this day? I got this many drivers. All right, sir. It'll be this much if you pass tech, you can.
[00:56:18] Speaker A: Wow.
[00:56:18] Speaker D: And it's that easy.
[00:56:19] Speaker B: It's not hard. It's.
[00:56:20] Speaker C: That's cool. Cool.
[00:56:21] Speaker A: Yeah. So. So y' all ran out the track. You ran out the track, too. Wow.
[00:56:24] Speaker C: And we do classes, everything else.
[00:56:26] Speaker D: Whenever. Yeah, whenever he does events, I'm always working. I miss. I miss every single working at the garage.
[00:56:33] Speaker C: Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah.
[00:56:35] Speaker B: We do that on purpose.
[00:56:36] Speaker C: Yeah. All right, so it's a digital.
[00:56:39] Speaker D: So, Yeah, I can't. I can't ever jump in on the event. So the only way I get to drive legally is.
[00:56:46] Speaker B: Right.
[00:56:46] Speaker C: Drive it is.
[00:56:47] Speaker D: And, you know, like, I can't. I can't tell these guys how thankful I am that you can tell us.
I can't express it, is what I mean.
[00:56:56] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:56:56] Speaker D: Because, like, you know, I'd have the car, and I won't be able to drive it. No.
But, yeah, like, this is. This is the only. The only way I get to drive the. Drive the balls out the car.
[00:57:09] Speaker C: You know, and people don't see that. We offer that. So. So, like, Frank goes to the track, and where I was going with that is at our deal, you sit in line and you wait for Everybody to go do their lap at a private day. It's you and five to ten other homies, and you just go on track, and you get it to where you're like, hey, I'm done driving. Like, I can't drive anymore. Like, I'm tired. Like, I can't.
[00:57:29] Speaker B: The driver's.
[00:57:30] Speaker C: Yeah, the driver. Yeah.
[00:57:31] Speaker B: And they're still, like, four hours up in the day. And, like, they asked, do I got to stay here? This is your day.
[00:57:36] Speaker C: Yeah, Like, I'm here.
[00:57:37] Speaker B: As long as you're here here. You want to leave now, you let me know.
[00:57:40] Speaker C: That's awesome.
[00:57:41] Speaker D: Or you can just have a really bad day and both your cars break. Like, what happened to me and J. Wow. I was there.
[00:57:46] Speaker C: World smallest broke.
[00:57:48] Speaker D: Both cars broke, and my canopy blew away and hit. Hit one of my cars and scratched the car up.
[00:57:54] Speaker C: Stay with me. Don't get started.
[00:57:56] Speaker D: A horrible day.
[00:57:57] Speaker A: What color is your car?
[00:57:58] Speaker C: The.
[00:57:59] Speaker D: The one of them was purple. The other one's red and red and. And red and white.
[00:58:06] Speaker B: Well, that's not the worst day week that I've. I've seen.
[00:58:09] Speaker D: Yeah, well, y.
[00:58:10] Speaker C: You.
[00:58:10] Speaker D: You've seen way worse.
[00:58:11] Speaker B: No, we had a dude come in from Houston. I can't remember where had he had his own birthday party the day of all his homies.
[00:58:19] Speaker C: Oh, this is horrible. Oh, yeah.
[00:58:20] Speaker B: Did not answer his phone. Oh, he showed up to Corpus by himself.
Hey, man, no one else is here. It's your day, brother. You do what you got to do.
[00:58:28] Speaker A: Wow.
[00:58:28] Speaker B: Yeah, he did. He. He didn't even do one lap. The motor popped.
[00:58:32] Speaker A: Oh, no.
[00:58:33] Speaker B: So it was like, well, I guess I'm done.
Didn't even. Didn't even spend 20 minutes at the track. All his friends ignored toward him. Just left him high on his birthday.
[00:58:41] Speaker C: I was like, damn.
[00:58:42] Speaker D: Yeah, that's dirty. That's sad, dude. Like, I feel so.
[00:58:45] Speaker B: So not. Not to one. Up yours. Like, it wasn't my experience, but it happened.
[00:58:49] Speaker D: Yeah, it happened.
[00:58:50] Speaker C: So when Tony doesn't show up.
[00:58:54] Speaker D: This. This weekend. So sorry.
[00:58:57] Speaker A: Just looking at the time.
[00:58:58] Speaker C: No, no, you're good.
[00:58:59] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah, that's cool. Quick. I guess we'll do some.
[00:59:02] Speaker C: One.
[00:59:02] Speaker A: Some quick round questions. Favorite engine of all time. Time.
[00:59:07] Speaker B: I'll let you go first.
[00:59:09] Speaker D: I like the 2JZ, man. Toyota. Reliable. It's stout.
You can. You can get that thing. 280 degrees. Let her chill and she'll rip again for you.
[00:59:20] Speaker A: 280 degrees, bro.
[00:59:22] Speaker B: Damn. So I'm a Chevy guy. LS all the way, so.
[00:59:25] Speaker A: Oh, right, right.
[00:59:26] Speaker C: Yeah.
Let me Introduce you into the Lord and Savior's motor, the vq.
[00:59:34] Speaker A: Put here by God himself.
[00:59:35] Speaker C: Put here by God himself, AKA Ben Lee. Building these things and putting them out, making them reliable.
Yeah. Like Frank says, they see some temps. And me and Ben have been the pioneer of his and have put our motors to work.
And that VQ 35, 37 HR that I have now is no joke. And I beat the living hell out of the motor. And like I told you earlier and I'm a brag on it and I want to because I want to. And hopefully it doesn't do anything but maybe build it.
[01:00:09] Speaker A: He, they build it out here.
[01:00:10] Speaker C: So my buddy in San Antonio built BPS tuning. Ben Lee, he builds it, man. And he's gonna build me my next good tuner. Yeah. So, man, just doing everything I, I my motor sees redline 24 7.
[01:00:24] Speaker A: Is there any of it that's stock or is it just all his.
[01:00:28] Speaker B: The steering shaft.
[01:00:30] Speaker A: That's what I'm saying.
Which body? I guess. Which body do you use of which?
[01:00:35] Speaker C: Which? That's all preference, man.
[01:00:37] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:00:37] Speaker C: So it could be. You can do.
[01:00:39] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:00:40] Speaker C: Seriously doing everything now. Yeah.
[01:00:42] Speaker D: My, my Toyota 2JZ is in a Hyundai Genesis chassis with a 350Z transmission.
[01:00:50] Speaker A: No kidding.
[01:00:51] Speaker C: Wow. Yeah.
[01:00:51] Speaker D: Like you can, like I said, the technology is crazy. You can mix and match whatever you build.
[01:00:57] Speaker A: That's insane, bro.
[01:00:58] Speaker B: Yeah, neighbor, neighbor's got a big four.
[01:01:00] Speaker D: Door family car and neighbor's running a, A niece Nissan. An Infinity.
[01:01:05] Speaker B: Same thing.
[01:01:05] Speaker D: A big infinity four door. Like this thing's like.
[01:01:08] Speaker A: Oh, no kidding.
[01:01:09] Speaker C: It's like from here to the end of the room how big the car is. Yeah.
[01:01:13] Speaker D: And he's got a 2JZ with a 300 ZX Nissan transmission.
[01:01:19] Speaker C: And Sean says small block forward, but he's got a 2 valve. Small block forward.
[01:01:23] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:01:23] Speaker C: It's not a small block valve.
[01:01:25] Speaker B: No, he has a two valve.
[01:01:26] Speaker C: He has a two valve. No, the white car is a three valve.
[01:01:29] Speaker A: So this is all.
No manual transmission. No manual.
[01:01:33] Speaker C: Automatic needs. Manual.
[01:01:35] Speaker B: Manual.
[01:01:35] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:01:36] Speaker B: You can do automatic. Shout out Tony. You can do it automatic.
You won't be good at it. Shout out Tony.
[01:01:43] Speaker A: Hey, nice.
[01:01:44] Speaker C: So in case you haven't, we have this thing that we rag on Tony all day.
[01:01:47] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah.
[01:01:51] Speaker C: If you haven't noticed, Dream card.
[01:01:53] Speaker A: No budget.
[01:01:54] Speaker D: Oh, wait, no budget or unlimited?
[01:01:58] Speaker A: No budget.
[01:01:58] Speaker C: Unlimited budget.
[01:02:00] Speaker B: That's two different terms. I like that.
[01:02:01] Speaker C: What, what's the difference?
[01:02:03] Speaker B: No budget. No, you got no money.
Unlimited budget. Open checkbook. Yeah.
[01:02:10] Speaker D: I don't know. Give me a Second you go unlimited.
[01:02:14] Speaker B: Damn. Dream car.
[01:02:17] Speaker C: 2022 F450.
[01:02:19] Speaker B: I already got that one. I got that one locked down.
[01:02:21] Speaker C: I woke up from that dream.
[01:02:25] Speaker D: We can do the. The C5, C6 Corvette duo, man.
[01:02:29] Speaker B: Who's we?
[01:02:33] Speaker D: Oh, you want something higher?
[01:02:34] Speaker B: No, I'm a Porsche. I like Porsche. So. But, but dream car. No, no, damn. I do a Fox body. Actually that would be dope. Fox body, gen four Coyote, single turbo.
[01:02:44] Speaker C: For the people that don't know what a fox body is.92.
[01:02:47] Speaker B: What's a 84 to 93 Mustang?
Somewhere there. 2i4. I don't matter.
[01:02:52] Speaker A: Wow.
[01:02:53] Speaker B: We got a gen 4 coyote. Cody. Put a little turbo on it full good. That's it. Single seat. No. No one else riding.
[01:03:00] Speaker D: Oh, no one else riding.
[01:03:02] Speaker A: Nobody else did.
[01:03:04] Speaker C: That's it.
[01:03:05] Speaker B: That's it.
[01:03:08] Speaker C: Well, I guess dream car, I mean.
No, mine's a 32 Ford coupe, man. Just the small block Chevy, nothing crazy. That's my Chevy. Dream car is a 32 Ford Coupane, black top, no American Graffiti.
[01:03:22] Speaker B: That's right.
[01:03:23] Speaker C: So yeah, I mean if it's not a motorsports car, but that would be my main thing, cruising. Cuz that car will last till I'm. Till I die. So I can drive that no matter what.
[01:03:33] Speaker A: But yeah, it's been recording good.
All right, shoot. We got a like few more minutes. Let me see. Dream car.
Wildest drift event moment. There's that question. Another one is go to Corpus Food spot after a car day.
[01:03:49] Speaker C: We're gonna plug them.
All right, Go for it, go for it.
[01:03:52] Speaker B: 1, 2, 3.
[01:03:58] Speaker C: Martin be slanging.
[01:03:59] Speaker A: Shout out.
[01:04:00] Speaker B: Best pies in CC.
[01:04:01] Speaker C: The best, best pizza in Corpus, man.
[01:04:04] Speaker B: Dude, and the vibe in there.
[01:04:06] Speaker D: I'm at work and I'm watching this dude, this posting like, oh, at Marty's.
[01:04:10] Speaker C: Everybody knows if they go there. Yeah, we're always there all the time.
[01:04:14] Speaker B: It's bad when you walk in. They know. They already know the order.
[01:04:16] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, they already know.
[01:04:18] Speaker B: Pull up to, to the, the ordering register just to have a conversation with them. It's not to ask what we want. How's your day? How's this?
[01:04:27] Speaker C: We just tap and that's it. They already know. Yeah.
[01:04:30] Speaker A: Crazy man.
[01:04:31] Speaker C: Yeah. Shout out, man. We love that place. Ever since they were a food truck, we've been eating there. And now that they got their own place up here downtown, man.
[01:04:36] Speaker A: Yes.
[01:04:37] Speaker C: That's been our family. Go to Spot. Now everybody who comes out and all.
[01:04:42] Speaker B: The guys who drift with us.
[01:04:43] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:04:43] Speaker B: All go to Martin Pies. After the event, we bring the Whole.
[01:04:46] Speaker C: Party normally go eat after we set up on a Friday. And now we had to stop doing after the events on Saturday. Everybody's like, hey, Marty's. And we're like, we just ate there. But yeah, we'll do it again.
[01:04:56] Speaker B: We will go back to back. It's not a problem.
[01:04:57] Speaker A: Back to back, bro.
[01:04:59] Speaker C: Text messages. I've done this. I get them from Martin, man, and he'll message me and he'll be like, hey, bro, you're cut off. And I'll get, I'll get.
I'll get a security, security screenshot of me and the thing. He's like, you were just here yesterday. I'm like, look, man.
[01:05:16] Speaker B: Fool.
[01:05:17] Speaker A: Hey, I. I didn't forget. For Sean Roberts, we gotta talk about Frank's Gundam collection.
[01:05:25] Speaker D: So, yeah, like, I'm getting.
I'm like, I'm. I'm. I'm being more of a homebody now that I'm older. So I just. Every time I go, the Hobby lobby is my spot.
[01:05:33] Speaker A: Okay. So what, what's, what's a Gundam?
[01:05:35] Speaker C: What.
[01:05:35] Speaker A: What is this?
[01:05:36] Speaker D: It's a. An anime from like the 70s to now. Like they've been. It's been running that long and it's just giant robot robots. Giant robots that fight each other in space.
[01:05:46] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. Wow.
[01:05:46] Speaker D: So they like Transformers or something, but not.
[01:05:51] Speaker C: But it's different.
Don't ever.
[01:05:57] Speaker B: Pilot control.
[01:06:06] Speaker D: But they make models of the robots and, and a lot of them are really detailed.
[01:06:12] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[01:06:12] Speaker D: And dude, I go to Hobby lobby because. Shout out hobby lob. Yeah, they got 40 off on those Gundams, like, and all model kits every once in a while.
[01:06:21] Speaker A: Cool.
[01:06:21] Speaker D: So I just buy a bunch of them. So on my house I got like stacks. Stacks.
[01:06:25] Speaker A: So you actually build them glue, put.
[01:06:27] Speaker D: Glue them together and they don't even require glue.
[01:06:31] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:06:31] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:06:31] Speaker D: You can. Oh, no kidding, dude, there's a lot like YouTube it. Yeah, there's something.
[01:06:36] Speaker A: I was a teenager, I used to make these like little cars glued together and stuff like that.
[01:06:39] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:06:39] Speaker D: Like there's some people that go crazy detail on them.
[01:06:43] Speaker C: It's.
[01:06:43] Speaker D: It's insane. Insane. Like it's too much work for me. But I just like putting them together.
[01:06:47] Speaker A: That's cool.
[01:06:47] Speaker C: And it's.
[01:06:48] Speaker D: It's a good way.
[01:06:49] Speaker A: So why is Michon always cracked? Why is Michonne like cracking on you on this?
[01:06:52] Speaker D: Because I always post it on my Instagram.
[01:06:55] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:06:58] Speaker B: It'S in his Instagram handle.
[01:07:02] Speaker D: Saabi is one of the robots.
[01:07:04] Speaker C: Bashan is very social media informed. He knows what's going on Everywhere.
[01:07:07] Speaker A: Martin says NY certified says Bill Dice on YouTube.
[01:07:11] Speaker C: He came in and he was like. The first time he had it and he was like, yeah. Then the next night I said, hey man, we're going to go do dinner here. No, I already ate Marty's. I'm like, you were just there. Last.
[01:07:23] Speaker A: Local build. That deserves more hype.
[01:07:25] Speaker D: Oh, not what Tony's doing.
[01:07:30] Speaker B: Maybe the Cavalier.
[01:07:32] Speaker A: No.
[01:07:34] Speaker B: Doesn't get enough hype.
[01:07:37] Speaker A: Oh, there's another shot.
[01:07:39] Speaker B: Actually, you know, I think neighbor's car doesn't good enough because it is different. In my eyes, it's different.
[01:07:44] Speaker D: And that thing is a smoke show for.
[01:07:46] Speaker B: For local for sure. Yeah.
[01:07:47] Speaker C: Yeah. You know what, that's true. He does have a good Instagram following and a lot of stuff. But he's actually one of the ones that like.
[01:07:55] Speaker B: Camaros, Corvettes, but you don't see a big four door Lanyat that.
[01:08:00] Speaker D: Can sit five and take you on the track.
[01:08:03] Speaker B: Wow.
[01:08:04] Speaker C: Yeah, that's true. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And it's.
[01:08:07] Speaker A: So he has an Instagram following, you said.
Does he post mostly? Like.
[01:08:12] Speaker C: Yeah, no, he posts and he is very consistent on posting his deals and doing everything and man. But I don't know if he's also.
[01:08:21] Speaker B: Out of the hero garage.
[01:08:22] Speaker C: He's out of the hero garage. I don't know if it's a people thing or what or. I know, I don't know if it's an algorithm, but it's just like, man, this dude's car is jamming. He's sponsored by a lot of people. I mean, he's. I know wire specialties hooks him up and a lot of other stuff.
[01:08:35] Speaker D: There's his big old car right there.
[01:08:36] Speaker A: Wow, bro, it looks like it must be like an Impala.
[01:08:39] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. Like the old, the 96. Yeah, that's how big it is. Yeah.
[01:08:46] Speaker D: You could fit five inside.
[01:08:49] Speaker C: Let them restate that. When they said they could fit five. They could. He could fit five big.
[01:08:53] Speaker B: Oh yeah, no, like five of us fit.
[01:08:55] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah.
He ain't scared to do it either.
[01:08:58] Speaker B: And the car still gets down.
Yeah. Under underrated. Not enough love. I say neighbor's car.
[01:09:04] Speaker A: Yeah. Big body car.
[01:09:05] Speaker C: Like neighbor's such a peaceful, humble guy too.
[01:09:07] Speaker A: What's a 1 20, 25 event car or not?
[01:09:11] Speaker C: You're excited for not excited for or no excited for?
[01:09:16] Speaker B: Excited for?
[01:09:17] Speaker A: Excited or not excited?
[01:09:19] Speaker C: Our drift must bash. I like drift.
[01:09:20] Speaker B: I like our end of the year drift Bash.
[01:09:22] Speaker C: Our end of the year because he.
[01:09:23] Speaker B: We do a tour drive as well.
We do a toy drive.
[01:09:26] Speaker C: Aaron Dresses up as Santa Claus and takes all these pictures with everybody's cars so he can give out a picture next year.
[01:09:32] Speaker B: Oh yeah, give out.
[01:09:33] Speaker C: Hanging his Christmas card chest hairs.
[01:09:35] Speaker B: What do they call it?
[01:09:40] Speaker A: Is that you in that Santa Claus picture?
[01:09:41] Speaker D: No, that was.
[01:09:46] Speaker C: That's a good one.
We give back as much as we can and a lot of people. It's a bash. Everybody's there hanging out.
[01:09:52] Speaker D: The city always comes through with a toy drive. Yeah, they donate.
[01:09:59] Speaker B: Little.
[01:09:59] Speaker D: Little tip. If you're going to donate to any toy drive, just go to five below.
You get a whole bunch of stuff like dumb, cheap and.
And that's.
[01:10:06] Speaker C: Yeah, it's good.
[01:10:07] Speaker D: Like a kid is getting a hot wheel man.
[01:10:10] Speaker C: That's. Yeah.
[01:10:11] Speaker B: Actually to answer that question again, the venom side of four in 2025 is ours in the Valley.
[01:10:15] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:10:16] Speaker B: That we have coming up.
[01:10:16] Speaker A: When. When is that?
[01:10:18] Speaker C: November 17th.
[01:10:20] Speaker B: 17Th. I don't remember the number, but I know the month.
[01:10:23] Speaker A: Any. Any other projects or.
Or meetups or anything that you guys want to shout out upcoming events or community shout outs.
[01:10:32] Speaker B: September 27th is our. Our coming back our fall fling coming back from our summer break for drift corpus.
[01:10:38] Speaker A: And November 16th you said yes, November.
[01:10:41] Speaker C: 16Th is there in the Valley.
[01:10:43] Speaker A: Oh, and then that the September one is there in town.
[01:10:45] Speaker B: Is ours. Yeah, it's ours coming back from our summer break. So.
[01:10:48] Speaker A: Okay. Okay.
[01:10:48] Speaker B: It's our first event back for the second half of the year.
[01:10:50] Speaker A: Nice.
[01:10:51] Speaker B: Yeah. So excited about that.
[01:10:53] Speaker A: Wow.
[01:10:53] Speaker B: He won't. He won't even be here for that event.
[01:10:55] Speaker C: Be there.
[01:10:56] Speaker B: So what'd you say?
[01:10:57] Speaker C: Oh, you'll be there.
[01:10:57] Speaker A: No.
[01:10:58] Speaker C: So we ventured off this year.
Aaron persuaded me and everybody else did into competing in again thankfully. And yeah, I saw that you did.
[01:11:07] Speaker A: A post or something.
[01:11:08] Speaker C: Yeah, we went out to Alabama and competed, me and my boy Ben. We went up there. Ben got fourth place and I got knocked out by Ben sp.
[01:11:20] Speaker D: He's got.
Ben got driving ability.
[01:11:23] Speaker C: Ben got third. Got third.
[01:11:24] Speaker B: Third, right.
[01:11:25] Speaker C: Yeah. So Ben got third.
[01:11:27] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:11:28] Speaker C: His car is like well, hell well built too.
[01:11:31] Speaker B: If he built his to make so much power. He's a tuner.
[01:11:34] Speaker C: Yeah. He built his own ye alone. So we kind of. They. The guys convinced me to get back up and going and do it and now that I have a good team backing me and me not doing it all alone and people I can depend on and help me, it's been a huge thing.
[01:11:49] Speaker B: The only reason why we even convinced them because that's how we. When I first came in, that's what we were doing.
[01:11:54] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:11:54] Speaker B: It was, we're, we're going to Houston, we're going here, we're going to Dallas, Mineral Wells, Fort Worth. We're going everywhere. And it was the same. People were doing it now, doing it then.
It's just, I don't know, I guess nostalgia, I guess at this point.
[01:12:04] Speaker C: Yeah, I've been wanting to. I like it.
Yeah. And now financially I can. And bringing the guys in and helping them out and doing, you know, them helping me out is a huge thing because when, like we were talking about when you're drifting, it's a mental thing, drifting. You're not racing the time, you're not racing, you're racing your car. But it's more of a me thing. So if I'm stressed, missing out my driving all day can be crap. So if I'm, if, if it's a stressful event for me, then I'm done. Like, I can't.
[01:12:35] Speaker D: Well, yeah, I mean, imagine if you were at an event and you had no pit crew. You know, you're changing your own tires, you're changing your own, you know, so.
[01:12:42] Speaker C: That'S how I did it for the, for the remaining years when I was competing and I was just like, I can't do this no more like it. I was getting mad, frustrated, pissed off. I hated drifting. I didn't. And I was like, nah, I'm not.
[01:12:51] Speaker B: And you're out there by yourself. There's no one out there with an extra eyes saying, oh, hey, you shall out here.
[01:12:56] Speaker C: You went too deep. Me and my wife, wife hanging out. My wife was my spotter. And then, you know, she would help me with what she could in the pits and do whatever. But I mean, it's me doing everything.
[01:13:05] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:13:05] Speaker C: Mechanically wise because I'm, you know, I'm not gonna make her do that. But at the end of the day, it's like, it's, it was a, it's a lot on myself to do everything. And then hot. The heat, everything else, it was like, nah. Now that these guys are like, hey, let's do it.
[01:13:16] Speaker B: We'll all go, we'll help you out.
[01:13:18] Speaker C: We'll do this. It's like, well, hell yeah. So we went, we did really good. I feel like we gained a good experience in it. And this was. It's hundred a K race. So you win the whole series and it's.
[01:13:28] Speaker B: Yeah. The winner of the whole series.
[01:13:30] Speaker A: Wow.
[01:13:30] Speaker C: Total. In total of everything. So. And it's, it's a whole, it's a clutch kickers as a deal and they've Had a huge following and a huge competition.
[01:13:39] Speaker D: Don't forget about that tech they got with the.
[01:13:42] Speaker C: The, the. Oh, yeah. So they're introducing a lot of new tech technology into this, into this series and everything to where they put a sensor on your car and now that shows you everything.
[01:13:51] Speaker A: Oh, wow.
[01:13:52] Speaker C: Yeah, the guy at Race Data Labs they're doing now it's. It shows you. It breaks down your whole run from speed, your.
[01:14:03] Speaker B: Speed angle.
[01:14:04] Speaker A: That would. So that helps. It actually helps.
[01:14:06] Speaker B: Oh, hell yeah.
[01:14:07] Speaker C: So it was breaking down our runs.
[01:14:08] Speaker B: It logs in proximity to other car.
[01:14:10] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:14:11] Speaker D: Like how deep in the zone and out of the zone you are.
[01:14:13] Speaker C: Yeah. So. And that's an expensive thing that these dudes are coming through. And these dudes, they are super cool. We met them there and now we're good.
[01:14:20] Speaker B: Well, it's also. It was. The event we went to, was their first event in the States.
[01:14:25] Speaker C: Yeah. So now they're doing the pros on the other side of the world, doing everything for there. And hopefully they implement it to the, to the. To what we got here and the pros here, which is formula drift. But what they're doing is. Is a whole. It's. It's advancement of technology into drifting. Like now it's like, oh, we're getting there.
[01:14:45] Speaker A: Amazing.
[01:14:46] Speaker C: Like the future. The future is now.
[01:14:49] Speaker A: Starship Enterprise.
[01:14:53] Speaker C: But now it was something cool for us to go do. And you know, it was better experience doing it with my friends that. That had my back and doing. I mean, we didn't win nothing big, but we won going over there.
[01:15:02] Speaker B: Experience. I mean.
[01:15:03] Speaker C: Yeah. The people we met there, the crew, the. The Florida guys, there's. Yeah. Networking with everybody from there is like.
That's a memory. We're never gonna.
[01:15:12] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, for sure.
Over there and say it's. It's what's up. You know, like. Like whenever Mr. Beat.
[01:15:18] Speaker C: Yeah. And you go to a drag racing thing and you're not going to like those dudes here or any other style. And we go there and we made friends with everybody and. And different genres of racing. You're not going to have that. And going over there, it was a home thing, man. And it's a small track, dude. Small just like ours, man. And, and doing that big series and doing that. It was. It was fun.
[01:15:36] Speaker B: So definitely fun.
[01:15:37] Speaker C: We're definitely going back and gonna bring it. Bring the heat the next time. We know what to brought.
[01:15:41] Speaker A: Yeah. As we wrap this up, is there anything that y' all want to share before we go?
Kind of got a Maya back there falling Asleep. Almost like it's out in a minute.
[01:15:54] Speaker C: So just like Aaron said. September 27th, 2nd annual Fall Fling, Drift Corpus.
Be there.
[01:16:01] Speaker B: Free to attend.
[01:16:01] Speaker C: Free to attend.
[01:16:03] Speaker B: We don't charge the door. By all means, come in, post up, have a picnic.
[01:16:07] Speaker C: We're in the barbecue pit. Hook it up. We got bathrooms there. We got trash cans.
[01:16:12] Speaker A: And this is the old Greyhound racetrack.
[01:16:14] Speaker C: The old 5302 leopard. Yes.
For those you can't get on on the Leopard side anymore, you got to come in on the 37 McBride side. Now, they closed off, they welded the gate.
So.
[01:16:29] Speaker B: Yeah, come.
[01:16:31] Speaker C: Yeah, y' all want to come out, hang out? It's free to spectate. Check it out. It's a 20 wristband.
You want to come get a ride along with any of the drivers? Don't forget to tip your driver. Drivers drifting ain't cheap. So if you can help them out by any means.
[01:16:45] Speaker A: Is there. Is there any other Facebook communities to join or that you consider joining? I know there's Corpus and Coffee. I. I feel like that help kind of helps the car.
[01:16:54] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:16:54] Speaker C: So there's Corpus Christi Cars and Coffee. Corpus Christi Events.
Cars and Events page. They have that going on.
SCCA guys have their own stuff. We have our own stuff. There's is the South Texas RE Region.
Autocross S. Scca. Yeah, they have their own stuff to go hang out. Check them out. St. Yeah, they have their own branch. Drift Corpus.

[01:17:38] Speaker B: Oh, no.
[01:17:39] Speaker D: Yeah, I'm retired, so.
[01:17:40] Speaker C: You're retired? Yeah, I don't have Facebook, so Casey's gonna be.
[01:17:43] Speaker A: There's one called like seven Brew. Is that copy?
[01:17:45] Speaker C: Oh, there's a seven Bruise meat. Oh, Saigons. That's what.
[01:17:48] Speaker B: Oh, the Vietnamese shop on.
[01:17:50] Speaker C: Casey's probably watching Mad. Sorry, Casey.
[01:17:53] Speaker A: Thanks to everybody in the chat. Also, yeah, Facebook and YouTube for joining the live stream.
[01:17:58] Speaker C: So Saturday morning from 8 to 11, cars and coffee at Saigon's Civic Cafe at 2222 Airliner Road.
Nice if I said that right, but yeah, they have that. That's going on. That's just a chill meet. Hang out, check out some cars, enjoy some good coffee.
[01:18:14] Speaker D: I'll be at my private Day.
[01:18:15] Speaker C: So I won't be enjoying his private day.
[01:18:17] Speaker B: I'll be at Cars and Coffee.
[01:18:19] Speaker D: Bring me some coffee.
[01:18:20] Speaker C: Give me. He's Gonna be late.

[01:18:29] Speaker B: So actually what get. Sorry for the words. It's called the dirty.
It's from roasted on.
On St.
Man, that place is delicious.
[01:18:38] Speaker A: Wow. That's right.
[01:18:39] Speaker D: I've been going to seven.
[01:18:40] Speaker B: It's. It's a cinnamon coffee.
[01:18:42] Speaker A: It's what?
[01:18:42] Speaker B: Cinnamon coffee.
[01:18:43] Speaker A: Oh, okay. Okay.
[01:18:44] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, that's why it's called that. I don't know why.
[01:18:47] Speaker A: No, just. Just black with cinnamon or.
[01:18:49] Speaker B: No, there's some other stuff to it, but I like cinnamon, so I'm biased.
[01:18:52] Speaker A: Oh, right on cin. And yours is the seven Brew.
[01:18:55] Speaker D: Yeah, I've been going to Seven Brew.
[01:18:56] Speaker C: Like.
[01:18:57] Speaker D: Like I always.
Hey, it's good. I like their mocha.
[01:19:00] Speaker C: Yeah, I gotta try.
[01:19:07] Speaker A: White mocha for me and the white mocha or caramel apple spice. It's not caffeine.
[01:19:13] Speaker D: Caramel apple spice.
[01:19:14] Speaker A: Yeah, it's like.
It's like apple. Apple juice like heated up with like.
[01:19:19] Speaker C: Oh, that.
[01:19:20] Speaker A: That type of jam or whatever.
[01:19:22] Speaker B: Okay, I'll do like a medicine ball from Starbucks. I like that medicine ball. Like a citrus honey Citrus lim tea. Some. Some crap.
[01:19:30] Speaker A: Like. Do y' all know they have that short is an actual drink size and it's like a shot. It's like a. Like that big of a cut.
[01:19:39] Speaker B: It's a shooter.
[01:19:39] Speaker A: It's a. It's a shooter basically. And it's called.
It's called a short.
[01:19:43] Speaker B: My only gripe with Starbucks, I wish they made like a 44 ounce because I will tear up a 44 ounce pink drink.
[01:19:50] Speaker C: Tear me up too.
[01:19:55] Speaker A: Give me all that sugar.
[01:19:58] Speaker B: It's like coconut strawberry and some other stu.
[01:20:01] Speaker A: Thanks a lot you guys for coming on the show. That's a wrap. This is awesome. Talking about the corpse Chrissy car scene from Yalls perspective.
